The following is a Joey Porter update. It was done after my previous post. On Tuesday, witness Dave Benz came forward, describing the fight as something out of a "Rocky" movie. "They were throwing down," said Benz. "They must have each gotten in a good three or four swings. Then all of a sudden, the bigger guy who I found out later was Levi Jones, picked up Joey Porter and tossed him probably 10 feet like he was a rag doll." Benz said there was about 10 seconds where people broke the fight up, but said Porter broke loose and went after Jones again. "Joey Porter broke free and ran full sprint at Levi Jones and dove through the air at him like he was trying to tackle Ladanian Tomlinson. Took him down with a tackle, then the two of them got up. They were throwing fists again. It sounded like a 'Rocky' movie." Benz said the whole incident started when Porter confronted Jones while he was playing poker. http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/sports...705/detail.html I certainly hope it isn't this Dave Benz that is the witness. I am still reserving judgment but this makes the whole incident seem even more surreal.
i hope joey porter didnt have seven guys attack him, cuz dat would be something a girl would do. for all the trash porter talks he should be able 2 fight his own battles. if that statement is true i have lost all respect for him after i let the kiss he gave bill cowher slide and that very gay statement afterwords, quote "me and coach are closer that yall think"........i hope not joey, i hope not

I want some other major sources other than bengals.com. Is there evidence that the other men who punched Levi were with Porter or acting on their own. The first account also made it sound like Porter or others possible associated with Porter had stolen jewlery from Johnson, but now this account says that he got those chains back, so that suggests that they might have just gotten pulled off during the fight. I'm going to wait for some real news sources to report on this story.

I am waiting for source that's not as subjective or even better the official police report. As far as "stolen" jewelry, funny things can happen when entourages retaliate. It would not surprise me if Porter's posse were acting out to defend their boy. The question remains; how culpable is Joey and does he have enough plausible deniability like Ray Lewis?
