How do you figure? He's taken what 10 snaps? Rivers has proven nothing and would be no better than Orton at this moment but would cost nearly 10 times as much with two high draft picks not to mention his cap level, its not worth it in the least. Blake is a solid pick up not the player he used to be but still pretty solid, I was hoping we would have seen a Return trip for Kordell Stewart :cheesey:

Orton is a middle round rookie, the last time a middle round rookie started for a year was chris weinke and the panthers went 1-15. Orton is a work in progress, and Rivers would have close to a year like Carson Palmer did last year. Rivers can be the QB for the future, and Rivers is durable he started all 4 years at NC State, and is like the #3 or #4 all time in passing yards in NCAA history, and he played against good schools unlike that Timmy Chang

Ok, now you are contradicting yourself

You say the bears pick San Diego will be in top 10, but he will help bears have winning season. Yep, you really are talking out both sides of your mouth. Which usually means one side is saying something accurate, but not in this case. When you have 5th grade level of knowledge return to forums. Till then, please stop posting.

Couch should be willing to accept a one-year deal right about now!

The key word in that sentence that you overlooked is chance. I didnt say he was going to bring the bears to a winning season, i meant he had the best chance out of all the backups they could bring in.

He would be their best option that they could get this year that would win the most amount of games. The things that would stop Rivers is only having one good reciever and not that great of a line. Right now the bears are looking at an another 4-12 season, Rivers could at least boost that number to 6-10 or better.

Hey didn't Shaun King get thrown into the same situation Orton is getting thrown into most likely his rookie year. So you never no but the Bears chances went down a lot though with the lost of their starter. Right now their best bet is work with Orton and maybe trade for a veteren. Whether it's Kitna or whoever and maybe they like Jeff Blake. He does have experience.

Who said that Lovie Smith should get fired? He is a great coach. Just when your starter is gone your first year as coacn and now his 2nd year you don't get much to work with. It's managments fault for not finding a decent backup QB anyways. Jonthan Quinn. Chad Hutchiston. Come on they could of found someone better than that in 2004 and now this season.

We all know what you are saying. We all know what you are saying is stupid and moronic. Now, we are simply trying to show you how stupid and moronic the things you say are. No one is going to trade a 1st and 3rd rd pick to go from 4-12 to 6-10. It is a dumb idea. Espically for an unproven QB. Yeah he played well in preseason but so has orton. They arent going to go make stupid trades. Fortunately, teh bears arent run by dumb 16 year old kids who know nothing about football, adn never will.

I have always kind of liked Orton, but I'm not sure yet whether he'll be a starter in this league or not. Neither has anyone else, that's why he was a 4th rounder. That means, he is a project for the future. There is no sense throwing him in now.

I never liked Orton to much. He always choked in big games. He choked agains the Badgers and was even pulled for Brandon Kirsch who I think it gonna be better than him. Either way though at least he looks nice in preseason.

4th told me at work today that Hutchinson had beed tagged as the starter. I still think Orton couldn't do any worse. At least give him open competition to show his stuff in camp and the remaining preseason games before you annoint a starter.

I think Lovie Smith is a great coach, but owners wont keep a coach that finshes in the top 6 worst record. If Lovie Smith finshes like last year he is probly gonna end up being fired.

Coaches get fired if there QBs go down and they lose a lot of games. Just look at Dan Reeves(spelling) when he was with the Falcons, Vick went down and they went 5-11 and Reeves got fired

Lovie Smith was charged with turning a stuggling franchise into a decent one he's still got around 2-3 years left before any talk about him being fired happens. I know for sure he's got atleast this season and one more, plus he helped them Beat the Packers! He should have a statue erected for that one lol.

But what if he goes 4-12 again? What would you do if you were the owner and your team went 4-12 again. I would have to cut the coach even though i liked him alot. Hes gotta do at least 5-11 or better to definetly keep his job because the owner will know that the team is improving.

That doesn't mean they are improving necessarily. Winning one extra game the next season is probably just luck, or a product of their schedule. Especially for a team like the Bears, they will be lucky to win 5.

He don't deserve to get fired. He is a good coach with some bad luck. Dan Reeves was in Atlanta for more than 2 year before he got fired. Smith will be in Chicago for at least another year after this one.
