Outlaw will have to hit the road in another deal with Raef's contract.

    Regular Season:

Aldridge and Roy 32 minutes: Long career with fewer injuries

However, we are only talking four minutes. Take four from Travis for Aldridge and some of Batum's minutes for Roy. The point is that there are enough minutes for the key players and all the rest are injured, too young or only good for the forth quarter.

Why? I have him down for 26 minutes a game (PF and SF). He is now averaging 27 minutes. All we are doing is talking about replacing Batum with a real NBA small forward.

Salmons is not a MAJOR upgrade, give me a break. He is a guy who has improved, but whose stats this year are partly reflected from the fact that Kevin martin was out for a large stretch and thier team is a bottom feeder.....

I mean, if there is nothing else, and you can get him on the cheap? Yeah I guess you could take a flyer on him, but it certainly isn't a long term solution....and I certainly wouldn't send one of our younger SF (Webster, Batum, Outlaw) out for him.....

That would be like getting him for free. Honestly, he needs to take Batum's minutes and some of Rudy's. Salmons is a much more efficient scorer and versatile scorer that Rudy right now.

    10 extra losses.

But if you want to go into the playoffs as the 8th seed, fine by me.

What up with Nate not playing Channing Frye at all this season. I assume Oden is taking up Fryes minutes. Fry had a great year last year. I have always been bummed that Frye isn't playing.

He tried early in the season, but Frye is limited in what he can do. When he got minutes, he couldn't hit his shots. That combined with limited hustle on defense and rebounding and you have a trip to the end of the bench.

That Boston game in Boston really was the last straw for him I think from the coaches. He couldn't have had any worse of a stint than he had there in that first half, couldn't make a shot, was tripping over his feet and turning the ball over.. Not good.
It's a shame, too, since Channing came into camp supposedly in great shape, then had that injury before the season started, and just hasn't been very good.
It's too bad because I think he can still be a good NBA player.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I think the speculation that it will piss anyone off is way too tenuous to be a factor. Salmons would start at small forward. Batum would back him up, which was the expectation from the start. Outlaw will take all the backup power forward minutes.

Webster isn't even worth considering, since his return gets pushed back further and further. Pritchard can revisit the small forward position in summer, perhaps make a deal to clear it out a bit.

Frye for Salmons is a total steal in terms of talent. I didn't want Salmons for RLEC and Outlaw, but I'll take him for basically free.

I'd also like to "swing for the fences" and get a big star...but that may not be an option.

Probably the first correct observation Jon Barry has ever had.

we really dont have a choice... we are losing games cause our starting SF cant score. i dont car ehow good his defense is.... you cant have you starting SF in the nba get 5 points a night and beat good offensive teams. if we had a great PG...batum could start but with sergio starting..its a problem. blake hid batums offensive problems cause blake would get you 14-17 a night.

batum and sergio should never start unless you have studs at the other 4 spots

That's pretty much my position. If you can trade Frye and maybe a second round draft pick to get Salmons, or make it Diogu and Frye then I think that's a pretty reasonable exchange of expirings/"talent" (can we really call Ike and Frye "talent" at this point?) for a decent upgrade to the small forward position.

Yeah, I can see a little bit of truth to what you are saying, but to Nate and KP's credit, neither of these guys would be major minute getters if it weren't for battlefield promotions due to Blake and Webster's injuries ... and Travis' seeming inability to function as a starter.

I think Salmons stock is higher than is being considered around here. I think it would take throwing in Sergio or a 1st rounder to get a Salmons deal done. Still a cheap price.

Salmons would be GREAT at that price. I say get him, and then do the RLEC/Outlaw/etc for a point guard and a backup four. Gravy.

RLEC/Outlaw and a second round pick or two for? ... hmmm ... maybe this?

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cpnvgy

I know it's not exactly a "blow your socks off" kind of deal but it fills a hole at the 1 with a decent upgrade and gives us a legitimate backup power forward in Gooden who is expiring anyway and can be let go or resigned if so desired (and shouldn't be too expensive to keep).
