http://deadspin.com/a-sketchy-drug-...source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow This article posted on Deadspin by Joss Gross is very in depth and goes through what seems to be an example of the UFC putting business ahead of fighter health and safety in 2012. The UFC had just pulled the plug on UFC 151 in September after Jon Jones refused to fight late replacement Chael Sonnen. Replacement Vitor Belfort was named and their fight booked for later that month. Belfort was popped in a pre-fight test with 2.5x the normal amount of free testosterone in his system (on record) and the UFC didn't do anything about it. The commission in Ontario was not informed that Belfort had been on TRT (this would come out months later). Immediately following this fight Belfort retreated to Brazil for his next three fights--the Bisping, Rockhold, Henderson trilogy of juicy knockouts.
Should add that when Weidman fought Belfort earlier this year he claimed to have proof that Belfort was still cheating.
Some of the things that are unclear in the article: He had 2.5x the normal amount of free test for someone his age but it does not say what the allowed amount is and if he exceeded it People to received the email documenting the test were told not to circulate it but this may be for a variety of reasons and not (exclusively) to silence it The UFC knew Vitor was on TRT but weren't telling anyone about it including Jon Jones--or if more people knew about TRT and were told not to say anything
http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2015/9/2...icle:top&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Follow-up by John Nash suggests, surprise surprise, the UFC conducting it's own drug tests went down like most internal investigations, but he claims that era is closed.
I hope Hendo knocks Vitor's head the fuck off. I can't wait for Vitor to be done with MMA. Fucking cheater.
