He was much better as the studio host, that's his wheelhouse. Not a knock on him, just certain people are better suited for different jobs.

Chad Doing would be horrible as a play by play guy, but he's fine as radio guy for pre-game and post game stuff (not saying he's perfect).

Like when Schonz went to TV, it showed he was much better suited for radio (although it also showed he had lost a step or 12).

I didn't say people were bashing Kent saying he's a bad person, but some are bashing him for not being an NBA caliber annoucer. I guess it reminds me of people who bashed Evan Turner for being overpaid, when in reality he wasn't great when we signed him.

Shouldn't the issue be with the Blazers for signing a guy with little to no experience (likely to save money) and not the guy who is out there doing what he's told to do? I'm confused why the overpaid/unqaulified person takes the heat, when the people who hired them should be responsible.

I thought Hurd was rough in his first 2 years, but has really improved.

There’s no chance Kent isn’t the worst NBA play by play tv guy. He’s awful. Tremendous person. This job isn’t for him. I don’t think experience will make a difference. TV voice is lacking. Says things that are uncomfortable. Like he’s on his couch talking to friends but still awkward. It’s bad.

You get what you pay for ....a rookie...PAINT IT! ...Kent isn't the worst tv guy in the NBA though....listen to Miami's play by play guy sometime...there are several whiney assed play by play guys in the league...you just don't get to hear them often....Kent is following Kevin Calabro.....tough act to follow...he's just a bad actor...needs to stop acting and let the game come to him. Demers has improved alot ...he's still no Wheels but he's improved....Michael Holton has been slipping recently....I was impressed with him up until the last handful of games and now he seems to be confused more often than not. He's starting to wander all over the map with his commentary....I think broadcasting from home has got Holton drinking like a fish

Mike Rice is 81 years old....he should have Jaynes job...no need to travel on the road at 81 ..he's still a fan ..Barrett is consumed with baseball these days.

Agreed. I miss the days of Steve Jones. The guy just had so much basketball knowledge, and told it like it was.

Hoping Kent settles in, but if not we need to get somebody legit like Ann.
