Do you think male teachers should be or is this just a female teacher thing? way out of context anyway dude....arson is not pedophilia
The kid can't buy a lotto ticket but owes a good size jackpot. I certainly want him held accountable but why put a symbolic and unusal number on something he can't possibly pay back? We all agree it is unusual don't we? This isn't premeditated murder we're talking about. We're talking about a stupid kid doing something idiotic kids do all the time. If this kid burnt down his friend's house he'd have to have a rich friend to owe 37 million dollars. Again, kid can't consent. Can't vote. Can't buy cigarettes or alcohol....in debt 37 million dollars. The more I think about it the worse it sounds. I'm leaning towards kids under 16 can't be held financially responsible at all. The parents should be.
It is in context. This kid can't do almost anything because he's a kid but he can be punished like an adult running a Ponzi scheme. If he needs protected from an adult woman because of hormones and his brain hasn't fully matured and he makes poor decisions then he shouldn't be punished as an adult financially. Also, I acknowledge the hypocrisy of thinking a teen boy and girl are different when it comes to teachers and affairs. Don't care.
The boy has a very good chance of paying overall less restitution than the 14 year old girl sentenced in the Cocos Fire. Her family is expected to pay $40,000 according to state law.
Don't know anything about it. She a known firebug and her parents should have known about it and stopped her?
nonsense...he's got a lot to do...and he has a home..he's free to go to school...he's just got severe probation restrictions until he's 25...and he has to work for the forest service for x amount of hours as well I believe...which will do him a world of good.
Tell you what, buddy. This thread is not exactly roses and sunshine. So, I listened to some songs by Bill Withers (Just the Two of Us, Lean on Me, Lovely Day, Use Me) and Christopher Cross (Sailing, Ride Like the Wind, Never be the Same) along with Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell for a couple of hours. Man, Tammi Terrell had such a beautiful voice. Too bad she succumbed to death at such an early age. She was truly a wonderful talent!
