    Just got a final diagnosis.

Heart attack was ruled out (thank goodness), but the source of the pain is Pericarditis-swelling of the heart lining.

They put me on some drugs which should help.

    I appreciate all the well-wishes.

While we may argue & bicker at times, we are family.

    Thanks all.

    Gramps...

I swear, chest pains scare the shit out of me. I have never had a heart attack, but any time I feel anything remotely like chest pains I start this argument in my head about whether I should go in or not.

First time I’ve had pains like that and honestly wondered if this was the end. Pretty intense.

have a good friend who has that condition. I forget what meds he's on or it he takes the meds all the time. He was diagnosed 15 years ago and is doing fine. Not sure how severe it was/is as he's kind of quiet about that. His life didn't change much although the doctors told him to take it easy when he's symptomatic.

about 10-12 years ago I had PVC's (premature ventricular contractions). Basically, irregular heartbeats. The heartbeat is organized by a node of cells at the base of the aorta. It send tiny electrical signals to the rest of the heart for the sequence of contractions creating the heartbeat rhythm. In PVC's a node of cells at the base of one of the ventricles jumps the gun and contracts out of sequence. That cause the rest of that heartbeat to fail. It isn't a life-threatening situation except in the rearest of cases. It's not even health-threatening

but I can testify that when something is going on with your heart...you for damn sure notice it. It's right at your core and drives home your mortality. It's hard to notice anything else. Turns out, that all I needed to do was cut-out caffeine and that ventricular node quit fucking up. Relief. Another thing my doctor recommended, which really surprised me was to practice good gum health. Told me to thoroughly floss every single night. Brush teeth and gums vigorously. Apparently there is an unproven but suspected connection between healthy gums and a healthy heart.

Great news! Some heart advice....cut down on salt . Also contrary to popular belief and country music, you can actually break your own heart!

So Grandpa, did you find out if the pain was caused by the new microchip you got in the vaccine?
