I believe Kurt Thomas has a partially guaranteed contract next season. Babbitt, Elliot, Nolan are on rookie deals. Shawn Williams in the Gerald trade will be owed $3.4 million. LaMarcus and Wes are the only large contracts on the books. Nic will have a reasonable cap hold of ~$5 million so we can sign free agents first with cap space then match or re-sign Nic.
Seriously interested in how this turns out. Pretty eerie premonition by Nate. I wonder if he packed any suits with him on this trip.
From last year, a must read: http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2010/07/the_trail_blazers_unlikely_lea.html Like the opposite of Nate.
I hope it goes "well" for him ... "well" as in, the young guys get some burn, seem to play hard and learn the game and team chemistry improves ... but not so well that we fuck up and get into the playoffs.
They could put Blaze in as the coach, and the players would listen just as much as they'll listen to the ball boy who is now the coach. What a fucking joke. At least tickets will be cheap the rest of the year, so when I bring in my "Sell the Team NOW!!, Paul" sign, it won't cost me much to get booted from the arena.
Much better at tanking. Bickerstaff is a far more adequate coach than this new guy. He sure was better than Lenny Wilkens with the Sonics.
The players respect and like Kaleb a lot. They will bust their ass for him. It's a surprising move, but I like it.
Watching that video: I wonder if Kaleb will reach out to get Brandon involved in the coaching staff in any way.
