Kaleb is going to find himself being a head coach really soon and I mean possibly by next season. HOMER ALERT!!!!!
I wonder if there's ever been a head coach in today's NBA who also has to prep his own video? Clown Town
Gee, you think so? Has he ever been even a lead assistant, let alone a head coach, at any level of basketball that doesn't consist of rolling a ball out on the court during a summer league game? You've had daily meltdowns over Nate being fired, yet you're already sold on the video guy as the next great coach? Bonkersville
I think Kaleb will do fine. I met him and got a chance to talk with him a bit at the meet & greet ABM organized a couple of years ago. He's a smart, dedicated guy who will work night & day. I think the players know and respect his work ethic. That said, the team is low on talent and we shouldn't expect more than .500 ball from here on out.
If the team goes .500 from here on out, yesterday's moves were worthless. The idea is to tank the season. A 33 year-old video coordinator was just named head coach of the Blazers.
All he's missing is LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh! :MARIS61: Oh, and Spoelstra has 8 years on Canales.
Kevin Pritchard @nbakev Quick thing on Kaleb Canales - He used to sleep at the practice facility because he didn't want to miss a player coming in at night #blazers
One big difference is that Riley was a great basketball mind who was allowed to name his successor. Comparing the Heat under Riley to the Blazers under Larry Miller/Paul Allen is funny to me.
Check out some of these comments. Pretty incriminating about Nate. http://www.csnnw.com/pages/landingb...azers-past-Bulls=1&blockID=671584&feedID=5212
Pretty incredible they can just implement a set in one morning and then use it and go out and beat the best team in the NBA on their home court. Amazing.
What's amazing is that Nate couldn't figure out how to bring double teams away from LA in so long, and Kaleb managed to do it in one day. This bodes well for him and us when teams figure out how to stop these sets, and KC can hopefully, quickly draw up some new ones.
