His defense is worse, that's a given. But you can see the difference in their offense based on their stats, doesn't matter who says it.
Good questions. All the reasons put forth as to why we should sign him apply to Utah. Between his defense and his unpopularity in the locker-room they decided to trade him rather than try to re-sign him. Draw your own conclusions. Sorry. Thought you were being serious!
According some some reports, Kanter had demanded a trade. http://www.si.com/nba/2015/02/12/utah-jazz-enes-kanter-trade-demand
Something interesting i noticed: LMA and Kanter stats at age 22: LMA:__________ ppg: 17.8 FG%: 48.4% RPG:7.6 MPG:35 Kanter(OKC):_____ppg: 18.7 FG%: 56.6% RPG:11.0 MPG:31 Kanter(OKC+Utha):_ppg: 15.5 FG%: 52.85% RPG:8.9 MPG:29 Doesn't look so bad now, does it?
it is not about his offense, it's about defense for sure and perhaps an attitude issue - is this guy a team player or only worried about his offensive stats?
The issues I see with this kid is being a team player and defense. If he can be a semi average defender, then it's totally fine. If the locker room issues only were because he was in that shit hole Utah, then that's not a problem either. I wouldn't be upset if we actually got this guy, but it could seriously backfire on us if the locker room issues are actually real. I'm not as worried about his defense.
We got rid of the entire JailBlazers roster in the past, i'm sure getting rid of a 7'0 turk will be a no problemo.
Kanter's a much more traditional low-post scorer. Think of him as Okafor without the passing and with even worse defense.
If Leonard could become a good help defender, adding Kanter wouldn't be a big issue. I think the major question is worrying about who will protect the paint? If management is not ready to start Leonard, then bringing Kanter in may not be such a bad idea. Aminu, Davis and Plumlee are excellent help defenders, which could off-sett Kanter's weakness. Now if Leonard can excell his defensive game to an entirely new level, Kanter and Leonard on the offensive end would be amazing!
This is my only issue. Before he was traded to OKC I was jealous the Jazz had him and surprised when they traded him. Then he played well for OKC. So the only downside is the "perceived' attitude issue. Sure no D would be an issue too but he would give us two young bigs with offense skills. And two with D skills. (Not sure yet where Vonleh falls in that group yet) We do need more offense.......
Stupid signing. Already have a blossoming Leonard and just traded for Plumlee, meanwhile we have ?? at SF and SG.... Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
