No dem is going to take the whole south or all of the midwest, but yeah I think they could do well in the midwest, especially with a running mate from there. Southern states like North Carolina and Virginia are winnable. Florida is winnable.

The problem with Warren is not that she's part Native American. It's that she's a woman.

I think 2016 proved that there is a large section of the population that will vote for literally the worst man available rather than a woman.

I liked thus post and had to unlike it because it was completely wrong.

I didn't vote for Hillary. And it certainly wasn't because she was a woman.

I knew she would win Oregon so it allowed me to vote FOR a candidate as opposed to voting against one. You're neglecting that voter. There were millions of us.

I did vote for a woman, Jill Stein.

To be fair to his point, there definitely is a large section of the population that will vote for literally the worst man available rather than a woman.

Asking whether or not he had a conversation with that law firm IS a RELEVANT question.

    He should fucking answer it.

My question is why don't YOU want to know the answer?

Do you really want to be part and parcel to helping a president become a dictator by not being able to be subject to a subpoena?

We should not be able to prosecute our president of he commits crimes??

    WTF is wrong with y'all????

If you think they outnumber us I'd say you're mistaken. Those same people are already Trump's base. It's only 25-30% of the population.

There are more women voters then men. I don't think it had to do with Hillary being a woman. It had to do with her being Hillary Clinton.

The population of those wouldn't vote for a woman are a minority.

There will be a woman president sooner than later.

How about a Harris/Booker or Booker/Harris ticket? They're young, charismatic, smart, and fearless. It's just gravy that they're both POC. I picture Trump's base spontaneously combusting en masse. :devilwink:

Yes and no. There is a strong base in the south that still believe women should stay home, raise kids and have the dinner on the table by 6pm. Definitely not a majority, but enough to effect an election.

Well its complicated and I agree that saying people are just misogamists is really missing the point because its mostly not true in that is why she lost the election.

Part of it IS that she is a woman. For some people misogyny is blatant and they dont think women are as capable as men, but for most people its latent and they are more likely to believe bullshit about people of genders, races, or other backgrounds they cant identify with.

Part of it was she did Bernie dirty. Hilary owned the power structure in the DNC both financially and ideologically and was at the very least complicate in the effort to suppress Bernie's message. Which alienated his base. Bernie never had a chance and it put a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths. Had someone like Bernie not come along then it didnt matter, but he did and it did.

Part of it was Obama. He put the DNC in dire straights financially after his 2012 campaign and didnt fundraiser for them like he should have. That set the stage for the Clinton's to bail them out and for them it made sense to do so since she was likely "next in line".

Part of was she was a woman. I know I already said this, but from a different angle there were many people who wanted a woman president so bad that they did some bad shit to Bernie, blamed Bernie bros and ignored threats by the Trump base, all so they could make it happen. Hillary was their Jesus just Trump is some peoples Jesus and neither can do any wrong in their eyes. (Fuck Wasserman Shults by the way)

Part of it was her campaign strategy. She ignored white middle america, against the advice of Obama and Bill. She played her hand on Obama numbers expecting that his votes would be hers. She thought the demographics of the country had changed enough that she didnt need to waste her time mitigating her losses to that segment of our country.

Part of it was a decade long character defamation strategy by the conservatives. After Hilary lost the nomination to Obama it was widely considered that Hillary was "next". The conservative propaganda machine went into overdrive to discredit her and through shit in direction to weaken her likability and eventual chances. When you say things enough people just start believing them, 1o years of things like Benghazi still have people hating her for reasons that are just untrue.

Part of it was the Russian hackers social media manipulation. How much Trump and other republicans were involved is debatable the fact that Russians did it and are still doing it is not debatable. Republicans benefit though and so they mind to much, but it weakens our country as a whole so the Russians are laughing at us.

Part of it was (and this is my tin foil hat conspiracy) is that it was outright stolen from her. Our voting system is so easy to hack and manipulate, its been done before. Republicans have been rigging the system in their favor and stealing elections since 2000 or even before.

Hillary was pretty much next though and it really took the perfect storm of events to overcome her beating Trump.

    Nice Spin.
This is what I meant a couple days ago when I said you purposely ignoring the truth.
Clinton didn't lose because she was a woman.
She lost because she was literally THE worst democratic nominee in my lifetime.
That has nothing to do with me believing Sanders was the better candidate either.
That has to do with knowing her history, listening to her talk over the years.

This is the bed you and others like you made. Lay in it.

I think you misread my post. I didn't say everyone who voted against Clinton did so because she was a woman. And certainly not you personally.

But there were a lot who did. I wasn't even suggesting it was the main reason she lost. But it is a major headwind for any female candidate, including Warren.

And often a major headwind is all it takes to doom a candidate. Obama had a similar sort of headwind, but overcame it by being an excellent candidate in many other ways.
