ok then, so far, the Lakers have spent 27M on Danny Green, KCP, and Javale McGee. That should have cost 18-20M, tops they've got 3-5M left, then the room-MLE
If they are underwhelming next season and AD leaves... oh boy. Didn't take long for that deal that deal to look worse. Also why are they overpaying those guy to 2 years and not just 1 ? They just fucked their capspace for next offseason. I guess you can luck into Lebron and AD but you can't magically stop being terrible at building a roster... Thank you Kawhi for not rewarding those turd sandwiches
I imagine Pelinka seing the news off Kawhi signing, being stunned for a few seconds then rapidely rustling through papers of free agent names saying "fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck"
I wonder if all those reports about Kawhi’s camp telling teams not to say anything is because they all knew LAC was choice number one if they worked out a trade, and the Lakers / Raptors knew they were both close on his list but if they leaked anything they would get dropped.
Would it have been better if he had tanked/lost and then left? I think Kawhi is awesome. Gets traded for 1 year in a city he doesn’t want to play in but wins them a title anyway.
According to espn, a trade of George, Westbrook to the Raptors to play with Leonard was on the table. Ujiri turned it down. OKC wanted Siakam in return. OKC is desperate to get ride of Westbrook. I believe he ends up in Miami.
Now who signs on with the Clips? Rondo? Bradley? (after buyout) Morris? Cousins? Not sure of the cap space they have left but it wouldn't surprise me to see them pick up some solid vets for cheap.
So Clippers three best players are all the same size and play the same position? Harrell. If they could put Lou as a starter and get Rondo they would be way above the cross court rivals.
