...Tex is still one of the best defensive 1Bmen in the game so I don't see why he'd be limited to the AL...if you're referring to him DHing only because he's had a lot of injuries, well, if he's injured he would not be able DH either.
...and if you think about it, his injuries have occurred while batting, not while in the field.

Sure, however as he gets older and the injury history accumulates there will be a perception that limiting his field time and maximizing his at bats that drives the narrative. We both understand that facts aren't the only inputs to baseball decisions.

...but luckily, Tex's contract would only be for one year. And his likelihood of being injured more often as he gets older would be the same at bat or in the field.

...probably all moot anyway considering his $23 Mil salary next year...even if he waved his NTC, I'd doubt if another team would take that salary on unless the Yanx ate a portion of it and/or like I said, if he was "packaged" with some other quality players.

Sanchez- 22 yrs old- is one of the best if not the best hitting prospect in the org.
I don't have any reports or grading stats concerning his defensive skills, but I wouldn't rule out the Yanks finding some other spot for him on the field or the possibility of packaging Murphy in a trade depending on Sanchez' defensive ability and athletic skills.........
On another note, with the arrival of Didi, Yanks are considering converting SS prospect Jorge Mateo to 2nd base. This kid has electric skills and can probably be expected to steal ALOT of bases if he only hits for a low .200 batting average- and they DONT expect that......that's how much SB skills he has.....according to the stats and reports.

In my humble opinion - the Yanks will NOT trade any of their top level prospects and will wait out the remaining big contracts to older players if they have to unless they receive decent prospects and/or players who are ready to help right now, and that will probably depend on who wants CC, Tex, Arod, lol....and/or how much of their salaries the Yanks want to pick up.

And keep an eye on Jake Cave's progress...LH hitting outfielder who has hit wherever he has played in the system including 2015 ST and later at AAA.

The "plan" is still moving forward.....

...unless they can find a way to unload him, Headley will likely be the 3Bman for another 3 years.

...wow, nice edit... The "plan" is supposed to be to win w WS, and this year's "plan" was a miserable failure.

Headley is a place holder until Jagielo is ready....maybe one or two more years depending on Jagielo's progress.....and we all knew Headley was going to make a billion errors this season....he's done it throughout his career......no?....yes?

Mateo needs more work & the last thing we need in the outfield is another player with no power.

...wrong..."place holders" aren't given ridiculous and totally unnecessary contracts for 4 freaking years...if the Yanx were that confident in Jagielo's projection, why sign Headley?...there were other options.

...Headley's defense this year was not the only problem...Cashman gave him that idiotic contract based on an anomalous 2012, period. Nothing else would warrant the contract he got.

NO! he's made twice as many errors this season as he ever made in any full season before.

Headley if his defense was much better is tolerable if the lineup supported it. As it stands when you have a Gardner and Ellsbury in the outfield. It's tough having a lack of power at the 3B position.

He was just plain embarrassing at 3rd base this season.

I can live without a ton of offensive production from the CF position, but for a corner IF or a corner OF position, I expect a lot more than what we saw from Gardner and Headley.

Prior to this year Headley never commited more than a dozen errors in any of his full seasons. And yeah we definitely would have been better off just staying with Solarte.

Vic he's going to be looking for a ton of money as will Upton & if we can't move Gardner there's no point anyway.

...and a power RHed bat is what the Yanx need most on offense.
