good for you. i'd like to know what it is about christian "values" that makes the US a better place to live.

    how's the poverty level?

i thought i'd read surveys that say different, but i'll take your word for it on that. the quality of education in the US certainly isn't competetive with more secular countries world-wide. i can point you to surveys that show that to be painfully obvious.

again, i was responding to the argument that was made that societies will degenerate into social chaos without religious values.

with the possible exception of adultery those are all common sense social values shared by more secular countries and derived by many non-christian moral philsophers independant of judeo-christianity. and they have nothing to do with gay marriage rights.

Okay I think I see the problem here. You're taking the most vocal part of the gay rights movement and assuming that the majority of gays are like that. That isn't true in my opinion. Most gays are just your average every day guy or gal who do your average every day kind of thing. These aren't people who have over the top stereotypical gay-lisps with limp wrists and are wearing hot pink vests with a neon lime sparkly skin-tight shirt underneath.

In my opinion that line of thinking is inaccurate, but is the current view because it is the most vocal and visible view. Please do not take the minor yet vocal group who reinforces negative stereotypes. It is just as unfortunate when people apply it to other vocal yet minor parts of groups. Not all Christians are homophobes and hate-mongers, not all Mormons are sect-leading polygamists, not all African-Americans are thugs with grills in their mouths, not all Mexicans are illegal or have a car that is a low-rider blasting out fiesta music, not all rednecks are racist, etc.

Please do not take a limited view on groups just because it is the most in your face.

Sorry, can't help it. If your house was infested with termites, you might not know it for a long time. If you saw one big hairy spider crawling on your bed, you might hire an exterminator right away. You might find the termites as a result of the spider. Just human nature IMO.

I know that the stereoptypical gay person I mentioned doesn't represent all of them. You might not believe this but I know about 10-15 gay men. (my girlfriend works with them DaRizzle, so you can't use that against me)

Anyway, the regular Joe type of gay guy HATES the flaming gays (in my experience)

NOTHING in life is always what it seems, there are tall Chinese people, that doesn't make them all tall.

I can understand that. I just think it is very unfortunate that all the good gets thrown in with the tiny bit of bad, but such is way of life I suppose.

I agree with Eric on this one. I'm against gay marriage because I believe the Bible is the truth and the way. But I'm sick of people comparing gay marriage to marrying a barnyard animal. To me this is a bigoted and ignorant way of thinking.

James Madison, who was the main author of the constitution was a strong Christian and believed that with out faith America was doomed to failure. Our country was founded on Christian values. We believe in allowing people to practice what ever faith they chose without persecution. Not allowing Gays to marry is not persecution. Ask the Muslims how they feel about Gay marriage. They would hang you in soccer stadiums. Christians are not forcing our values on gays, we just don't feel that laws should be changed to accomodate a lifestyle choice.

forcing your religious values on someone who doesn't share them isn't any less bigoted than talking about barnyard animals.

and thomas jefferson who was the main author of the declaration of independance was a die-hard secular deist. what's your point?

it was founded with a nod to our judeo-christian heritage in the form of ritual, but the values themselves were specifically formulated by the founding fathers to be secular. religious freedom is a secular value.

and you can't see the blatant contradiction right there in consecutive sentences? you believe in allowing people to practice whatever they want, as long as it doesn't contradict YOUR belief?

pointing to something worse doesn't justify what you're doing.

    how are you not?

you just changed one in california.

Revisionist. A judge, not the people changed the law. Crowbot, I pray for you to find your way. I'm serious. Take a day out of your life to go to a Christian church and listen. Look around. I hope you find what most of us Christians have found.

well if you want to be accurate the state house, senate, and supreme court changed a law, and the people just changed it back. the point was most people voting against gay marriage are motivated by their religious values. the notion that it's simply a matter of not wanting to change existing laws to accomodate lifestyle choice is nonsense.

you assume i haven't been there. i have, for 17 years. then i grew up and became a rational adult.

bodyman gets the "award" for the most hateful post on this or any other location I have ever seen on any subject.

No, I am not going to quote it. I don't cite filth.

I really feel sorry for your sister, bodyman. Must suck to have a family member who hates her and her children, not because of anything reprehensible they have done, but simply because they exist. Their crime is being alive, isn't it?

The mask has come off. No more bullshit about "I am not a bigot" or "I don't hate gays". Or even "I'm for equal rights as long as you're not, you know, too equal".

Bodyman has answered Keith Olberman, that's for sure. Olberman asked "what is it to you?" Bodyman answered he wants the people he hates to be miserable. Olberman said "it's about the human heart". Bodyman says gay men and lesbians don't have hearts, just twisted brains and gonads.

    And we're not human.

No, he won't watch real lesbian porn. He will watch porn for straight men in which the two women decide the MAN is what they really wanted.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I knew you couldn't resist.

Before you go judging me why don't you ask me a question about my sister? I have hated her since I was ten years old, she is the most selfish scummy piece of crap that walks the Earth. She wasn't a lesbian then. So you lose.

edit, she said she liked boys when I was a kid.

Holding grudges since with your sister since the age of 10? Sounds like you've never grown up. What did she steal your seat at Ramblin' Rod?
