    Though I agree with you that Reinsdorf is cheap, and just looking to profit, the strategy, while extremely tough to deal with for many years for Bulls fans, wasn't all that horrible, in hindisght. I know it wasn't the actual plan, but not paying Crawford, Curry, Chandler, Gordon, etc. big money was the right decision, knowing that a team with Crawford, or Gordon as your best player isn't really going to win anything.

    There best bet might have been keeping around, i think they had them al lat once, a nucleus of Artest, brand, and Crawford. Still, I think if you find your best guy is not what should be a team's best guy, throwing your hand back into the pot is a sound strategy. And it's similar to what the Blazers did with Zach. Felt him as their #1 was not going to be something they could build around, and threw it back in.

    Two points. The team with Rose and Gordon took the defending champion Celtics to 7 games in round 1, almost all those games went to OT or longer. And name four back courts better than that Rose/Gordon one.

    None of the players I mentioned as being traded asked for, or received max deals. But again, 20/10 is the platinum standard for PFs.

    how many GM jobs have opened up since Portland let him go in the middle of last off season? Of course the lockout looms so there may not be a normal amount of management turnover. Details/blame/rational are kind of murky as to why exactly KP was let go. Maybe it was justified, maybe it was a petty power struggle? Fans really have been left to guess as to the reasons. I suspect that the other owners have a pretty good idea though so it will be interesting to see if he gets another opportunity or not. But at this point I don't think it means that much that he's unemployed. Dude is a multi-millionair probably enjoying the good life with his family for a year before taking the plunge with some loser team in need of some sunshine blown up it's fanbase's arse.

    Damning is John Nash's employment status...

    But when it comes to ZBo, explain why as a 20/10 guy he was traded 3 times for nothing in 2 years. This guy should be so coveted, right?

    The CBA doesn't allow players to be traded for nothing unless the receiving team is enough under the cap. But teams did trade for him and his big contract.

    Both teams that did trade him after the Blazers were outright cutting expenses, regardless of it being good for the team on the court. The knicks ended up cutting expenses so much they had cap space to sign Amare, and absorb the contracts of Melo and Billups. The Clippers had the cap space to sign a MAX contract FA.
