Interesting potential until I read this stupid tidbit... Before high school even started, Johnson went through a very traumatic injury to his hands. He suffered open fractures in his fingers and was thrown over 10 feet in a fireworks accident. Surgery saved his fingers from being amputated, and it took him eight weeks of intensive physical therapy to fully recover.
So he overcame it and became a first-round draft pick last year. Sounds impressive to me. Look I have no idea how this kid will turn out. But then again no one knows how any draft pick will turn out, yet some are upset that we did not get a first-round pick out of the deal. We did and a lot of people like him to the point that he is an asset, either to trade or to keep.
What is the difference? If we got a first-round pick, the guy who would be drafting for us in June is the same guy who wanted Keon. Is there really a difference between whether we got a rookie in the deal or a future pick? Taking into account that neither you nor I know shit about Keon? We will still have a pick in this draft, and it will be for another young player who will also need a couple of years to make an impact.
No no no. Portland can trade that lottery pick as soon as it's made. Trading the picks is how to build talent around Dame. Not drafting young talent. They should have got a pick for Norm plain and simple. That would have been TWO frps to trade for proven talent ready now.
Not seeing a huge difference. We will still have the lottery pick to trade (as soon as it is made) and #21 from last year and Brown as well.
I like the trade even less finding out he played his college ball at perpetually disappointing Tennessee, with its track record of turning out blah NBA contributors.
I just got done watching some of Johnson tapes. His strength is mid level and into the basket. He can also handle the ball pretty well so he set himself up or others. He has great jumping ability but what impress me so much how he moves his feet on defense. Some people says he just athletic without the skills I disagree I seen a lot skills in his game.
I think the writing on the wall has now been scribed Dame will be traded no way Jody pays $50 million a year Bledsoe traded to Chicago for our pick back?? CJ goes to New Orleans? (So long as he goes I guess) THIS IS A REBUILD-FROM-SCRATCH and because of this I don’t see Dame staying. Highest bidder?
At this point I would applaud Dame if he leaves because the team is not supporting him. Jody is a joke. Paul: clearly a genius, but she would not be essentially managing billions if she weren't his sister. She's a fucking joke of an owner. The anti-midas touch. Everything she touches turns into a shit sandwich.
He played right under the nose of Billups - so I’m “hoping” he’s a diamond in the rough! Dame is gone….
LOL yeah a HUGE sample size, 15 games played this season averaging 9 minutes, lets give the kid a chance
