I don't think it is likely to happen either because of the location, small market, and money. But, if KD looks at the Warriors with a bit of envy (team play and winning record), then it wouldn't take too much imagination for him to envision how much fun he could have on a Stotts team with solid complimentary players around him. I'm sure Neil will push the vision, but it certainly would be a long shot.

Well now that that is settled, time to go reserve/paint in my spot downtown for the annual championship parade.

If we did get KD, I'd love to see Neil make a push for Pau Gasol on a 1-2 year deal. He's still got a lot let in the tank and he could be lethal initiating the offense at the high post with KD, Dame, and CJ spacing the floor. It would be absolutely beautiful basketball.

I think Pau should be the realistic target, regardless of the KD pipe dream. It would be sublime basketball.

That foot problem with Marc is a major red flag.

I'm pretty sure there's a closet behind the pantry at Venue Bar and Grill, where a time portal exists that can take you back to a specific day in early 2007.

Would you go back and try to prevent this terrible moment in history? I'd honk twice on loop for weeks if I had to.

If I could go back in time, I'd take Oden and trade him to the Sonics for Durant and a pick or something like that.

You just might have gotten away with it too. But then the disruption of the time/space continuum might have caused some nasty repercussions.

just wait til we take OKC to 7 games and get bounced and KD all of a sudden has a change of heart finds newfound respect for PDX.... thinks THAT team could be a contender with me at the 3 in the offseason and... BOOM next 5 years we're in the WCF or finals. Everyones debating the dynasty that could have been in GS and how people need to pay more attention to the blazers we all die having watched the 2 best blazers in history win a chip or two.

Pau is simply more attainable, and I think he's actually the better fit. Nevermind the Yao/Foot curse on Marc.

He's 35 & a FA to be while Marc just signed a new deal last off season iirc... of course Pau is more attainable. If they were both FAs this summer, 8 days a week I go for 31 year old Marc, even with the foot.

So starting at the age of 36, how many years are you advocating Portland hitch their wagon to the elder Gasol?

If they were both FA's this summer I'd still take Pau due to Marc's foot issue. I think he's going to decline quickly whereas I think Pau has a few good years left in the tank. He still moves well and I don't think bigs like Marc are quite as important as they used to be.

Pau, Dame, CJ (twice) & Michael Jordan spring to mind as a few of the Bballers who've broke a bone in their foot. As opposed to old age, a broken bone is something players can get past.
