Hell NO. Any trade the brings love and his bloated contract and his injury history is a no. Unless Cleveland is going to through in a couple 1st's. He is being paid like a all star and is long past being a all star level player.

Even though I know you're suggesting this because of your whole "untouchable" shtick, this is a bad trade for Portland.

Portland would be doing the Cavs a HUGE HUGE HUGE favor by taking on Love's contract and basically giving the Cavs a get out of jail free card + 1 strong prospect and a potential lottery pick.

Have you looked at the standings lately? This deal gives up a "potential lottery pick" for a potential top 3 pick. (currently tied for 3rd worst record)

This is the 1st hypothetical Love deal that doesn't make me gag. I don't care if it turns out a win-win deal that also helps the Cavs. As for Little being a "strong prospect", we will just have to agree to disagree on that.

The Blazers aren't a player for top free agents and they don't have the assets to land an all-star quality player in a trade. Yes, a high draft pick is never a guarantee...but it may also be the ONLY chance we have to land a true impact player. Like you, I hate Love's contract. Know what I hate more? Going from WCF to 8th seed/ass-end of the lotto country!

Any insight on the best return the Cavs have been offered in a love trade since LeBron’s departure? Were any of them good enough for the Cavs to have wished they pulled the trigger in hindsight?

    Jason

The only one that I know definitely equated to just a salary dump. Portland offered Bazemore and Whiteside, which essentially would’ve matched Kevin’s salary. But both of those are expiring contracts and the Cavs would’ve received no real assets in return. Portland eventually sent Bazemore to Sacramento.

Most teams were telling the Cavs they’d need to include assets just to get them to take Kevin’s contract. The Cavs were asking for a first-round pick. No one even came close to that. I’d expect them to resume trade talks on Kevin this summer.

I saw this on Twitter. You know how I know it's a bunch of shit?

Bazemore and Whiteside is way more salary than Love and doesn't work under the cap. You'd think media guys would actually do their homework before making stupid claims.

Do you think Portland finds themselves in a similar situation with CJ in a few years if they decide hey we want to move on? - I'm not trying to make this a bash CJ thread. - Just wondering if you think we should be worried about that for us going forward.

I noticed that too, but I assumed there was more coming back from the Cavs he just neglected to mention, because KLove was the main piece.

No, simply because CJ doesn't have a huge injury history like Love, at least not since he's become a starter.
