Lets not pretend either of them rebound or shoot like Kevin Love Hyperbole is not part of this equation. Lets not even bring up overall basketball intelligence where I would actually prefer Cousins but that probably isn't an option at this point?
He may want to be back in his hometown. There are several nice Senior Living Centers in Lake O. that would love to have hm.
You specifically said, "Kevin Love brings everything any of these guys bring". If he can't protect the rim as well as Whiteside or Noel, then he, by definition, does not bring "everything any of these guys bring". I don't disagree that he's a better overall player than any of them, but the words you used, were, in fact, hyperbole.
I hate to say it, but we're not going to be competitive this year. He would help, and that's the problem. A veteran stretch four who can rebound? That's exactly what we need. However, winning shouldn't be our goal. We need another year in the lottery. Kevin Love is perfect for a team like the Suns, who are cashing in their chips for this year.
Okay? Does any player actually bring the exact same thing another player brings "By Definition"? Wait. Don't answer that. I'll just agree with you. You are correct.
Really main reason would probably be if he wants to be close to home. As its only 3 months of the season probably not a big deal. Obviously to win now it doesn't make sense for him, on the teams side Blazers trying to build for longer term questionable why they would want him either. If he liked the idea of playing with Dame/Grant and trying to build something possibly extending to next year sure why not I'd take a look. But yes, never seemed like a great fit on either side.
K so let’s look at this from the blazers perspective and Kevin as a player.. does Dame want to at least be in the play in and definitely not tank? Yes Kevin brings outside shooting from a big and still borderline elite rebounding and basketball IQ. where are the blazers lacking? Outside shooting and rebounding are definitely two things we lack. I would say basketball IQ is something we lack as well. Does Kevin fill a few holes for us off the bench? The answer is yes if he wants to sign here, which I have pretty good knowledge of his thoughts about playing in Portland, Portland should go get him.
my thoughts too. I could se whim coming here in the off season more than I could see him joining us for the end of the season
