Is there really a big problem of former GMs trashing owners? Somehow I doubt that's what owners stay up nights worrying about (although, certainly not being trashed is better than being trashed). barfo
KP brought it up, not me. Mentioning the criticism brings up discussions about the criticism. That's very passive-aggressive. Well played, Kevin! Kevin gets to back Allen, yet brings up the criticism at the same time.
That picture shows why KP was let go, KP is a manila folder & 3 ring notebook kind of guy who believes in modern dentistry while PA is a computer guy with bad teeth.
Paul Allen doesn't stay up at night worrying about it. He publicly shuns people and strings out their firing when he gets his feelings hurt.
It's not going to get him a job, no. I think how he comports himself will matter to some extent, though. If he goes out Portland blasting the owner, it may make other owners a little leerier of working with him. I don't know how major the effect is, but I'd imagine public image is at least a bit important. I don't know. I suppose the distinction I'd make is simply saying things you don't mean versus honestly recognizing that the other side had some merits you appreciated and striving to emphasize those rather than emphasizing the things that made you furious.
Larry Miller has just sent a threatening letter out to other owners essentially relating if they hire KP within one year there will be pure hell to pay.
You are avoiding the question. You say Paul is the bad guy. KP says Paul is not the bad guy. How do you reconcile those two viewpoints? Is KP not telling the truth? barfo
But I thought he was all about taking credit for stuff. That's what you told me yesterday. Seems kind of inconsistent. If you shun people it is hard to receive credit. barfo
It's been repeatedly stated that this was a buildup of things, not one thing. To me, option #3 says that KP fucked somebody's wife or something like that. It sounds like it came down to KP being good at drafting and pretty cocky about it, as well as being pretty clumsy at negotiating contracts and interoffice politics.
quite possibly both are. There may be no way for Allen to reveal the reasons he chose to part ways with Pritchard without it reflecting badly on KP so he's staying mum on the subject and looking like the bad guy for firing a popular figure. He may be allowing KP to save face publicly. I'd imagine Pritchard is well aware of why he's been let go and is also choosing not reveal the details and to defend and compliment his former boss. STOMP
That's what happens when you fire a popular person without giving a reason. There would be no jumping anywhere if the reasons were made clear. PA has nobody but to blame but himself for the conclusions being drawn.
That has been repeatedly stated, but it doesn't mean it is true. Firing of Tom Penn suggests it isn't true (otherwise, why not fire Tom Penn on draft day too?) barfo
I'm barfo and I endorse this post. With the additional caveat that there is likely no way for Allen to reveal the reasons without leaving himself open to a lawsuit. Employment law doesn't allow you to trash your former employees or to say things that would hinder their chances of being hired elsewhere. barfo
It doesn't. You can say that Pritchard is full of shit on that point, if you want. One of you is, however, because both viewpoints can't be true. barfo
