Well, LAC obviously identified CJ as the key to the series, throwing aggressive double teams at him, guarding him tightly off the ball when doubling Dame, and having Redick attack him on offense. That was depressing to watch Stotts' lack of adjustments to the obvious.

We'll be in good shape if Dame and CJ play like they have all season. Plumlee doesn't get owned by the Clips bigs and Aminu learns that they are leaving him wide open for a reason. I expect better play next game from Hark who was in foul trouble and Davis. I'd like to see a little more Kaman.

What's the solution though? What's the magical adjustment?

I think we may see more Kaman....the refs quickly called two on hark to stop him from becoming a factor....I think we will play on a different level in game 2...let the pig headed clips gloat in their ego so we can snatch game 2 from them

Roster changes. :) Seriously, I've been saying all season this roster is badly unbalanced. That doesn't help us at the moment, though. I agree that Kaman needs to be logging as many minutes as he's capable of. We're fielding a lineup with basically no offensive threats at three positions. DeAndre is such a good rim protector, and Griffin is so physical, Mo/Aminu's inside game isn't a big factor. And their outside games are about as good as Plumlee/Davis'.

So why are you so disappointed in Stotts for not adjusting when there's no adjustment to be made?

There are adjustments to be made. I used Kaman as one example. Why did you not quote that portion? :p

The key is having a 3rd shooter on the floor. Was it not obvious going into the series that LAC would focus on our guards? There has to be another threat out there at all times. CJ and Dame should play a minimum of 42 min/game and Crabbe, Gerald, or Roberts should always be on the floor with them. We can't get a rebound with our "big" lineup, so we might as well play to our strengths.

Because Kaman is washed up and not an option, period. He looked okay against Aldrich. He did a fantastic job of fouling Jordan. It was stupid and useless.

We can definitely get a rebound with our "big" lineup. In fact, the game we won in Portland (in which Griffin played) we handily outrebounded them with a lineup featuring both Davis and Plumlee. In fact, in all 4 games against the Clippers the one constant was that we outrebounded them. That's our advantage yet we got handily outrebounded last night going small.

Step 1. Select 3 from Davis/Plumlee/Aminu/Harkless to be our back-up bigs. Trade the 4th for a 2nd round pick.

Step 2. Bring in 3 new big men to be the starters.

Step 3. Provide Kaman/Leonard/Vonleh with "Will be tall for food" signs and kick their asses to the curb.

Step 4. Offer Dame and CJ profound apologies and beg them to give Olshey another chance.

It might be interesting to play Kaman the first five minutes when DJ is on the floor (starting and every time he comes in). Kaman's pump fakes are good and the mid-range shot may pull out DJ a bit. Then switch in Mason. I can't see Kaman playing more than 15-20 minutes total.

I highly doubt Stotts is staying at the Motel 6.

I'll grant you that point if and when we out-rebound them this series. Otherwise, I don't put much weight on what happened in the regular season.
