Well the O line did pretty good but Culpepper just seemed to be surprised he had so much time and would throw it off too quickly. If he didnt rush his throws they wouldve won

Culpepper played fine, it just takes toime to get comfortable. The Dolphins defense looked pretty horrible they couldnt stop a third down, and that 4th 1 was brutal.

Oh I know you will. [IMG] Anything pre Kraft is a blur to me. Probably because the eye holes in my paper bag were never symmetrical.

I have to respond to this because I feel like we didn't watch the same game. Pittsburgh was in Culpepper's face all night blitzing from every slot, corner, and position. I think he did ok under the circumstances, but only once did I see him throw the ball too soon as the blitz got picked up.

Thats the whole thing the blitz pickups were amazing culpepper only had maybe 1 or 2 times were he took a sack becuase of the blitz. The dolphins did a great job, I just fel the playcalling was a bit hmmmm...... VANILLA [IMG]

They barely tried to go down field, they were al 10-20 yard throws that hung, Deshea Townsend was getting burned in the second by welker why at some point in the third Saban didnt say air it out ands see what happens bewilders me.

Kudos to Pittsburgh, they are the real deal, never said hey werent for the record SF05! I know you have a little media vendetta going on, try winning the NFC east yet you hear talk of teh other 3 teams more then the team that won the division. Excluding the manning manning BS, which is really the same 2 questions over and over again <LOL

Even when Culpepper was on target he was telegraphing his passes which led to WRs getting dare I say it "JACKED UP". [IMG]

Do you think anyone remembers that the Bucs won the NFC South last season?

It would of been funny if Saban had gotten an overhead still of the flag on the field and the ball unsnapped and put it in the Refs front pocket, a la Cowher....

Oops...

Dolphins had chances, but penalties cost them. Steelers looked better than I ever gave them credit for.

    In short: I was wrong.</div>
Yeah the Steelers really impressed me. Culpepper on the other hand played solid for 3 quarters and fell apart in the 4th. For a little bit it looked as if Miami was going to walk away with this one.</div>
What game were you watching? CPep was off in the 1st quarter. However I initially chalked that up to being over anxious for the opener. He redeemed himself a little in the 2nd quarter. But then the majority of the 2nd half was brutal. The Steelers should have won by 3 scores if you think back to the fumble at the goalline & the dropped INT that was air mailed to Ike Taylor.</div>
Culpepper had ZERO turnovers until the 4th quarter where he threw those 2 INT's which cost Miami the game. His 2nd quarters was solid. They lead the entire 3rd quarter. Miami was slowly pulling away and then Pitt got the deep pass on them and Culpepper began to falter.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zackman)</div><div class='quotemain'>I guess I'm in the minority on this, but I'm very confident the Steelers will win this home opener. Charlie Batch is a solid back-up, plus he's a hometown guy. The Steelers will be ready. Add in the fact the Saban coached NFL teams always start slow, it's a given Miami marked this game down as a loss when the schedule came out.

There's no shame in Miami losing this game ... it's expected.</div>
I just wanted to remind all you young wipper snappers who had the <u>best</u> pre-game post in this thread.

^ haha well the Steelers had pressure but thats because Culpepper was holding the ball wayyyyy too long. He would have ab open reciever and would have no accuracy. He looked good the 2nd and 3rd but he just choked in the 4th like McNabb would in a playoff game

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (manofsteel)</div><div class='quotemain'>It looks to be a close game for sure. People don't realize how deep Pittsburgh's receiving corps is. I look for Ward to play but even if he doesn't contribute a whole lot, the Steelers still have Wilson Washington and Holmes. Add to that Willie Reid who may be just as fast as Holmes and Sean Morey who will play fifth if they need him. The Steeler D will be strong as ever and the Running game is at full strength. The Steelers will pull it out with a good game from Heath Miller, and hopefully some big returns from the special teams.</div>
Hey Zackman...I gotta tell you, my pregame call was a whole hell of alot better than yours DEAD NUTS!!
