He kills both players in assists, but if playing with Kidd I expect his assists numbers to go down. And lets not forget about the FTs both Vince and RJ generate for the team. Does Kidd think if he is traded to the Cavs, the Nets wont get anything significant in return. The Nets are going to be better off

43 and 15? wtf are you even talking about. You are looking at it from a statistical point of view, which would be fine if we are playing fantasy basketball, but isn't the case.

So how should I look at it. Thats the production you are getting from two players, and thats with Vince's offensive game not at its best. Bron's a great player, but he is not putting up that type of production.

Bron could make enough players better offensively to make your arguement a moot point. Lebron doesn't have to put up that type of production to make his team better, he can get that type of production out of other players effectively.

First of all, you would have to compare not only Bron, but with the player who replaces either VC or RJ, if you follow your simpleton logic. It's a stupid way to compare players, and I'm sure if you look you can find a bunch of stupid cases where you see one duo is better than another because "they averaged more points, rebounds, and assists combined".

Which was my point from the get go, before you jumped all over the post likea gangbuster. You think Thorn is going to get the Cavs worst for Kidd. With the way RJ is producing, a rising Sean, an all star in Vince and a decent benchwouldnt it make more sense for Kidd to play with the Nets than a depleted Cavs roster.

You said Bron isn't better than RJ and Vince, and then tried to justify it by combiningVince and RJ's stats versus Lebron's, and since they are better, use it as justification, which was ridiculous.

Did you read the part in my first postyou qouoted, where I said Does Kidd think he would be traded without the Nets getting something significant in return?

LeBron is not better than BOTH Vince and Jefferson but is DEFINITELY better than both of them individually. I mean, lets be honest here. If you took the Cavs roster and took out LeBron and put in Kidd, Vince and RJ would they not be better than Kidd + LeBron? The one thing this New Jersey team lacks which is stopping them from contending for a title is a frontcourt and that is something LeBron has had the luxury of having in Cleveland. Cleveland's frontcourt is close to the best in the East, nevertheless, one of the best in the NBA.

Bron is better than each player individually BUT he does not put the type of production both players combined do. Is that really that hard to understand?

"He is not better than BOTH Vince and RJ"
I think KC alluded to this, but thats an invalid statement Enigma, unless the Nets decide to start 4 players.
Realistically, it would be LeBron and Antoine compared to Vince and RJ (for the sake of argument)

Watching Lakers trailing by 20 in the 3rd to Utah w/o Buzer I think they'll have to make some move and maybe talk about Kidd will surge up again. Would they/we do Farmar/Odom/1st round for Kidd/2round??

The one problem I have about taking Farmer in, is who starts between him and Williams? They're both young players who have a lot of developing to do. One of them will be raised as Kidd's heir, the other one will be bred into a backup by default.

QUOTE (ghoti)

I'd trade the entire Nets roster for LeBron.
What's the comparison of those combined stats?

then who's gonna set picks for Lebron?

QUOTE (Belarus)

The better will play more.

Well yeah, but my point is more long-term oriented. At this stage I regard them as equal players. Playing one will hinder the development of the other. I think these beliefs are probably based on my lack of faith in Frank being able to handle a PG rotation of two second-year players. Hell, he'd probably look at both of them and start Eddie Gill for all we know
