McInnis I would like to believe will make his debut tonight for the Cavaliers as James won't be playing for the 2nd straight game.

    Any more opinions on this?

Thats good news for the Cavs. Bad news for Ollie, this guy played a great game defensively against the Sonics. His minutes are going to be cut even shorter than they were before.

I don't think so, I think Ollie is a lazy player. Don't take that the wrong way, he stepped up huge in locking down his former UCONN teammate Ray Allen, but he never plays like that all the time. I think a cut in minutes could lead to better more consistant play from him.

    I would hope.

Rookie LeBron James is listed as doubtful for tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings in Gund Arena.

"He shot around a little bit today, but he's still not ready," coach Paul Silas said after Wednesday's practice. "He might be ready tomorrow. I'm not sure. Chances are slim, I would say. But I never put anything past him."

Ollie is lazy? I would have to disagree. He gives LeBron a blow (no pun). He looks for plays to happen everytime he gets the ball. Runs to the offensive end on every play. So he can't shoot, and he gets shafted everytime he drives to the basket. But he TRIES. I have noticed when no one is trying to get to the free bee line. Ollie is the 1st one who does.

Ollie started off this season very lazy, Silas had to get on his case to push the basketball. The Cavs would like to have had Ollie be the starting point guard, but he just does not play hard all the time.

He is one of the main problems with this "sleep walking" walking the ball up the court every time he touches the ball.

I want to see him push it and play defense like he did against Ray Allen all the time.

The team as a whole was lazy in the start of the season. I wouldn't single out Ollie for the blame of the sleep walking.

Cavs give up 3 point shots too much, Peja could have a feast tonight.

I expect him to score between 25-35 points.

True but, you think Peja can take Boozer in the post?

[edit] Ah i see BMiller is starting at the 4. Disregard my statement.

Miler will give Boozer problems too because he can shoot, pass, and run the floor.

At least Boozer will step up to the 3 point line to defend someone, unlike K-Mart would.

McGinnis and Boumtje-Boumtje won't be playing tonight.

Boozer needs to continue to go off and Wagner needs to go for 20 to keep the Cavs in this one. Z should have his way offensively if we let him have the ball inside.

Our 3 point D is atrocious. I still believe Peja goes for at least 30 tonight.

I think that peja will get 30+ easily tonight, him and his damn 3's. Boozer could easily take Millers if he plays the way hes been playing. I think that the Kings take this one by 14. ( kings are the 2nd best team look at how much they usually win by)

    Cavs up 25/23 after one

Kings did have a 10 point lead early, Cavs finished up on a 15-3 run.

    Peja has 10

    Boozer has 8, 4, and 3

    Z has 3 and 7

    ----------

Just past the 9 minute mark of the 2nd qurater Tony Battie has injured his left knee and now is out of the ball game. Bobby Jackson was driving to the basket and fell into it. Battie looked to be in a lot of pain.

    2nd Qtr 7:21 Cavs up 29/27

The Kings have missed 14 of their last 15 shots.

    ----------

Early report is that battie has a sprained knee

    Sacramento 39, Cleveland 41, 2:39 left in 2nd

    ----------

Game tied at 41 at the half.

I did not like a handful of no calls in that 2nd quarter as the Kings were just mugging the Cavs all over the court.

    Boozer has 10, 6, and 3

    Z, 7 and 7

    Williams has 11

Peja did not score a point in the 2nd quarter

Divac, Bibby, and Christie each have 7

Cavs shooting 41.9% from the field while the Kings are at 36.4%

Kings biggest lead 10, Cavs 6

    ----------

    Kings up 77/69 after 3

Peja went for 20 points in the quarter to give him 30 for the game.

    ----------

I'm out people, catch ya on the flip, good luck in the 4th.

    KJ

Dajuan Wagner dropped 20points 7-16 shooting, got a steal and 2 rebounds in 33 minutes. Boozer had 15points 6-13 from the floor, 11 boards, 6 assists, a steal and 2 blocked shots. Ollie almost had a triple double 9points, 9 assists, and 10 boards 2-6 shooting. Eric Williams had 18, 3 and 2 (7-19 from the floor). There were no other stand outs. Good effort by the cavs. Oh does anyone know if Battie is day to day or on the injured list?

    Cavaliers Edged by Kings
Carlos Boozer sunk two free throws with 39 seconds left in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to two, but the Cavaliers didn't get any closer and dropped a 95-89 decision to the Kings at Gund Arena on Thursday. Dajuan Wagner contributed a season-high 20 points off the bench, Eric Williams added 18 and Boozer scored 15 and grabbed 11 rebounds for Cleveland. The Cavaliers continue their five-game homestand on Saturday night against Allen Iverson and the 76ers.

    Stojakovic Shoots Kings Past Cavaliers
CLEVELAND, Jan. 22 (Ticker) -- Peja Stojakovic showed the Cleveland Cavaliers why he's one of the NBA's best shooters.

Stojakovic caught fire in the second half, when he scored 27 of his 37 points, as the Sacramento Kings opened a six-game road trip with a 95-89 victory over the Cavaliers.

After netting 10 points in the first quarter and going scoreless in the second, Stojakovic was a different player in the second half. The sharpshooter poured in 20 points in third quarter, making 7-of-9 shots and all four of his 3-point attempts.

Stojakovic finished 13-of-25 from the field, including 6-of-9 from the arc, as he fell four points shy of matching a season high. He also had 10 rebounds in 45 minutes.

Vlade Divac collected 13 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Kings, who won for the 10th time in 12 games.

Dajuan Wagner netted a season-high 20 points for Cleveland, which played its second straight game without injured rookie LeBron James.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Cleveland only dressed nine players and was again without James, who still hasn't been able to run on his sprained right ankle.

The Cavs were also short-handed because Jeff McInnis and Ruben Boumtje Boumtje, acquired Wednesday in a trade with Portland for Darius Miles, hadn't had their physicals yet.

"We're wounded, but we showed we can play with them," Cavs guard Kevin Ollie said. "We showed a lot of heart."

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Give them an ``A'' for effort and another high mark for desire, but in the end it just amounted to another ``L.''

The Cavaliers summoned a little character and a lot of moxie Thursday night against the high and mighty Sacramento Kings, but ultimately that's all it was.

There was a slight window of opportunity to stun the West's best despite being short-handed, but the better Kings left Gund Arena with a 95-89 victory.

Sacramento (30-10), now winners in 10 of their last 12 games, slipped out of the noose with a sizzling third quarter and a handful of crucial plays in the homestretch.

The most glaring came with 55 seconds left after the Cavaliers (14-28) had scrapped to get to within two points at 89-87. Vlade Divac, doing his best Shaquille O'Neal impersonation, missed his fourth consecutive free throw and the ball bounded to the right of the net.

Well the Cavs made this game close, amazing. This team is playing the best that it has all season. I believe being without James made these guys work a lot harder. Please play like this when he returns.

What I was shocked by last night was the play of Z. He looked really really good out there, he was running, I thought really well, and his D look outstanding and he was working hard for boards. Maybe that fight will be the turning point in Z's career?!

    Na.

Z is in his prime now, but has lost a lot of his quickness.

We will never see him rim a guard, dribble in 3/4's of the court, put the ball around his back and dunk it with 2 hands again (like he dod to Rod Strickland years ago)

I won't reject a little more hustle from him, and he needs to leave those ref's alone, he complains way too much.

Its comforting to know that our max contract player rides the bench the entire 4th quarter of a closely contested game against he best the NBA has to offer. Trade Z already! Its been reported by many in the area that Portland was willing to throw Wallace into the Miles/McGinnis deal if we tossed in Z, and Paxson refused. If this is true, then I'm dumbfounded. Why would we turn this down? Silas obviously doesn't like Z, and Wallace's contract comes off the books at the end of the year if we are looking at it in a financial standpoint.
