As Long as Miller is the starting Center, and Ostertag is the Backup,The Kings will be in fine shape.Ostertag is actually good,so in case Miller gets hurt,He can certainly help things along...Hopefully the Kings will benefit from this!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Miller should start at center and Ostertag would be a good backup. The Kings are not really suffering from the loss of Divac.</div> Yeah, the Kings aren't suffering at all. Just about 50 percent of the Kings offense is totally gone right now....
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bez Koske:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, the Kings aren't suffering at all. Just about 50 percent of the Kings offense is totally gone right now....</div> while i think i can see where u r coming from and yes a lot of the kings offense did go through vlade, i think 50% may be a bit too extreme. definately will be interesting to see how they turn though. same for the lakers, considering i'll have to start following them more closely since vlade left
divac wasnt going to start in sacramento this season anyway, so the arguement that any amount of the offense was going to run thru him is kinda void to begin with.
i would have spend your mid level exception on a backup pf like swift, cause clearly cwebb is damaged goods
wont know that he is damaged goods untill the season starts. not singin his praises here, but wanting to see how he is going to do next season. besides, if something happens they can start ostertag at C and move miller to PF (that is if they HAVE to) not sure how that would work, but im sure we will see that lineup a few times early in the season
Ostertag was a nice pick up for the Kings and he will add some depth to the bench. He's not a scorer, but can rebound and blocks shots thanks to his 7'2" body. He's extremely inconsistent, and can pick up fouls quickly. However he's a presence in the paint, and they're aren't many proven 7'2" guys in the NBA with lots of playoff experience like (P)ostertag.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting cula:</div><div class="quote_post">i just hope that all those assists that rubbed off on miller from vlade last season are still around next season.</div> You can bet in won't happen (maybe you'll se Odom gettin' easy baskets thnx to Vlade) and this just goes to prove that Maloofs, Adelman, Carril are the most stupid management team in the last 5 years....

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting harbingerofdoom:</div><div class="quote_post">qualify that with a reason please. otherwise you are just making infamatory statements</div> O come on it must take someone realy stupid to waste all that talent that was in Kings this year, I mean Webbe came not fully recovered from injuy and marijuana and they started to lose games big time instead of letting him come from the bench and back Divac and Miller (who hapened to be the best aint duo in the league) so the team lost home court advantage and eventually step by step lost it all, iot goes the same for putting idiotic Massenburg instead of Songaila and many other things.........simply his all ofansive idiotic game didnt work before and will not work in the future. And this year they got Osterfat and they are so wasted its sad...and I know you know it it just takes time to accept it...........
I'm looking fwd to seeing all these moves that the Kings have been making in the off season will pay off or not?? Hopefully Osertag will help us than hurt us??

Webber was injured and had a suspension. The Kings front office and coaching staff cant be held accountable for that that is all on Webber. second, they needed to get him into game shape prior to the playoffs... how do you think you are going to do that with him sitting on the bench? Webber is no good off the bench, not because of a lack of talent, but a lack of being able to realize that is where he needs to be. He cant get into the game mentally coming off the bench and you cant be serious about not starting your all star PF in the playoffs.... that is just a really dumb idea. thirdly, neither Massenberg nor Songaila got a lot of minutes last season, so I have no idea what you are trying to imply. But you cant have it both ways, they were at fault for playing webber, but they were also at fault for playing one backup over another? And you convienently forget that songaila played some important stretches in the Dallas series. And you are saying that them picking up a veteran center to back Miller is a dumb idea? who, with the current salary structure the kings have, would you rather have had them pick up? There were not really any great centers that could have been had for the money they paid Ostertag, they were already over the cap to begin with last season and were trying to avoid spending millions on luxury tax and really getting nothing out of the excess they were going to spend this year. Same reason they didnt resign Divac in the first place. They are not being wasted, they need to play to their potential. If anything is being wasted, its the starting lineup not playing to their full potential when they need to... and that, my friend is neither the front offices fault or the coaching staff. that lies with the player themselves.
hehe! From a writer in Utah: his top 10 Ostertag moments with the Jazz. Some give a cause for concern, some are just funny (in an odd kind of way...not a completely humorous kinda way) http://www.sackings.com/Article.cfm?article=2794 <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The night in Portland he was called for his second technical and ejected, after which he punted the ball into the stands on his way out. But Ostertag proved to be an even worse punter than he was a center, shanking the ball off his foot. Um, wanna give soccer a try? </div>
