I'd do it then tell JR not to travel here and stay away from the team until another team wants him

I still hate him for the time he slapped Joel P's broken hand and got ejected. Punk ass Leon Wood was Leaning toward the key watching the ball a the top of the Key (the fuckin' play was right in his lap) and he completely missed it.

Ok so Tyson would maybe give us a better chance this year but our window is just opening. Guys like Robinson even [ducks rotten tomatoes]Leonard[/ducks tomatoes] will continue to grow over the next couple of years and be more effective in keeping the window open.

If we can't (or decide it's not worth the cost) get Chandler or Hawes; what about a small trade for the budget Hawes, Josh McRoberts? I think he is big enough to play C or PF, he shoots .351 from the 3 and averages 4 assists in 30 minutes. He is shooting poorly on 2,s and free throws though. He is still only 26 years old. Charlotte does not seem to have a true center on their team (and Zeller seems to be a bust). How about Leonard for McRoberts?

I would trade Freeland, Wright, Leonard and Claver for Chandler in a second. Adding TRob makes it a little harder but I still might.

Chandler is just what we need. A backup big that's tough, plays inside, veteran, defender, and can score a couple buckets here and there.. and he's a champion. He fits our biggest hole damn near perfectly. Mo, CJ, TRob, Chandler off the bench?? That's 10 times better than what we had last year. And his salary isn't a huge deal, he's off the books in two years.

Portland would be a good fit for him. He gets out of the train wreck in NY, and he can ease his way into the lineup. He's in the later stages of his career so he's going to start coming off the bench soon anyway.

It's good to know that Stotts knows the guy and would know better than anyone if he would fit in.

Anyhow, I love this deal, do it!

It is almost BECAUSE they are playing so well that you want to make a move if possible to give them every chance. The starters are the best in the league while the bench is the worst in the league. It seems almost obligatory to help out the starters rather than weighing them down.

No way I deal Wes right now. Not unless something significant is coming back.

Yeah, I think the team just "works" too well to mess with it substantially. That's why I like the theoretical Hawes deal (which I've come to accept will not happen). The pieces necessary to make that deal are not major components of what we're enjoying right now.

The Blazers would still have an exciting fun team to watch!Think it though. Chandler and Lopez at the center spot. JR Smith coming off the bench. He can be a train wreck but he can also be a 20 pt scorer.

Sometimes basketball is a really fickle sport. You're only as good as your last bad game.
