<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">Hey, don't worry about it Billa. Without Shaq, the Lakers are nothing. The NBA Championship was an individual award in 2000, 2001, and 2002. You didn't know that? </div> Ya your right, I forgot Kobe's 28/5/6 a game during those seasons didn't contribute? Well whatever back to the old drawing board for the Lakers. Hey its funny, if you look at his minutes per year, it went up a little under a 1000 in 2000 when they won there championship, I wonder if there was any correlation? I guess not I mean it is Kobe Bryant, there is not way he could help win a championship. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">kobe hater? no. kobe is a selfish player who drove one of the most dominating centers out of la look at the heat then look at the lakers shaq has helped wade flourish.... imagine if kobe woulda just let the big guy run the show... then kobe would be hands down one of the greatest players around... now his team is struggling and being compared to the clippers.... enough said</div> Haha, Clipper beat the Pacers and there considered good and when the Lakers beat them everyone refers to them as a mediocre team again and like they suck and i guess how good Wilcox, Brand, and all those's clipps really just lost when the score board flashed lakers win end of game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">Worse season. Who's gonna be your SG? You would have Kareem Rush starting, and he's terrible...then, no backup for him. Hack-a-Shaq would be in full swing, and he'd be injured by December. Plus, if he was in LA, he'd still weigh 355 lbs.</div> You act as if you guys aren't getting raped down low. That dunk that Manu pulled (crossing over two people and then jamming) would have never happened if Shaq was there. Stop being biased. Defese-wise, would you rather have someone who can control the paint, or someone who can control the perimeter? I can't even believe that I am asking this question, it's obvious that inside shots are higher percentage, so you'd want someone to control the paint. You make it seem like it's a fact that the Lakers would be worse with Shaq than with Kobe. Kareem Rush isn't equal to Kobe, But Grant and Mihm and not equal to Shaq either. Actually I do believe that Odom would be playing better with Shaq than he is with Kobe, but I'm not going to waste time on that, because I know that you won't listen.
Grant and Mihm are definitely better than Shaq...when he doesn't exist because of a hammy, or a toe. I'd rather have a Divac injury, with two backup centers like Grant and Mihm....than a Shaq injury, with Medvedenko as the only backup.

Vlade Divac, Chris Mihm, Brian Grant > Shaq and Slava But I forgot, Shaq is seriously dominating this year with all of his career lows. <font color="Purple"><font size="4">Laker fans that enter this thread...most of us are over the fact that Shaq is gone. He's history. So, in threads that he doesn't belong in (every Laker thread), let's keep him out of the discussion from now on.</font></font> Back on topic. Let's talk about our franchise player, our real leader...Kobe. He's the one still in Laker purple and gold, he's the one playing for the fans...so let's put the spotlight on Kobe Bryant.
Laker fans really make me laugh. LA's record with Shaq, as opposed to with Kobe without Shaq, speaks volumes. As for Kobe, he needs to give his haters something to think about. Until he shows he can lead a team by himself, which he hasn't yet, there will always be ammo for the haters.

Shaq certainly had better percentage...Look again cuz I'm sure ESPN has better (and correct) information than you.

But I thought that what he does off the court doesn't matter to you? Now all of a sudden the police are use half quotes and lies? I'm not saying that I disagree, but it's funny how you care about his personal life all of a sudden. Even though you claimed not to earlier in this thread. I'm starting to think that it isn't Kobe Bryant that the haters are after, it's his childish, hypocritical fan base.

ESPN turned into 'BSPN' as soon as they stopped loving the Lakers remember?

Yet everyday I hear Laker fans claiming the the Lakers are better even though they have a worse record. Now you turn around and say that the Lakers were better with Kobe simply because of a silly stat where Kobe won 3% more, but played 2 less games? Double standards.

The Heat have beaten the Wizards (twice, no Kwame or Thomas), the Cavs, the Nets, and the Bucks (twice). They barely beat the Bucks the first time. The Heat lost to the Mavs, Spurs and the Wolves. Typical. The Lakers, who haven't promised ANYONE a championship, have beaten the Nuggets, Rockets, Clippers, Hawks and Hornets. Losses to the Jazz, Spurs, Grizzlies, and Magic. I thought we wouldn't start out the season this well? We're over .500...and second in the Pacific. The big, tough Heat can't beat an elite West team. Wait until they play the Pacers or Pistons. This is too easy. I'm out.
Thanks for proving my point, STATS LIE. Since we both seem to agree on that I'd appreciate it if you would please come up with a better reason as to why the Lakers were better with Kobe playing and Shaq missing than they were with Shaq playing and Kobe missing. And another thing. First you hate on the heat for now being able to beat elite western teams, but have the Lakers? The Lakers beat Houston, Memphis and the Hornets, the three bottom teams in the Southern division. Yet lost to the Spurs and Jazz (elite western teams). Another double standard.

Right now, if the Heat don't have a better record than the Lakers, then the Heat would be garbage. Don't give me that BS about stats lying...because that's all I hear when "that one guy's" stats are terrible (like they are right now), or when Kobe had 28-6-5 in a championship season, etc. The facts are...the gorilla and the Lakers didn't do any better than Kobe and the Lakers last year...and they had the same coach, same conference, everything similar. The Heat have a better record at the moment...what do you expect? A better record with 9 games into the season doesn't mean much. "That one guy's" not even the focus of the team...Wade is. And finally...the thread will have to be closed if the former Laker is mentioned in the thread anymore, from beyond this point. I'll just report it. The thread topic is about Kobe. Stay on topic.

I don't think a national TV station like ESPN gets wrong infos and stats and show on TV.
What about two seasons ago when Shaq missed the first 12 games of the season? Kobe put up some insane stats, and the Lakers went 3-9.
