And there is a reason why. not marketing. Skill set. ;) Skill set led to marketing because no one could do the moves MJ could. Remember the commercials? The Cereal box posters? Check the highlights reel of his career. The NBA would have failed and might not even be around if they didn't try to push him. They would have been foolish not to I mean. Just because He was universally marketable and the biggest thing globally since ALI, doesn't diminish his skill set in the least.

When someone states, for all to see, that they are "smarter than you (aka ALL of us)," it's got to b true; who'd make something like that up?:pokecrap:

Wow. You are very knowledgeable overall, yet your diminishing of MJ , his skill set and accomplishments is astonishing!
How many years did he make first team All Defense? What is his career ave in Assist compared to others in his position?
The guy improved his outside shot almost every season in the NBA and became a legit 3pt shoot for the second half of his ring runs.
Come on now. You this jaded cause the guy has made more than anyone in sports history in marketing?

Okay dude. You asked for it. Kobe was no where near as clutch as MJ. Kobe is great, yes, but MJ hit the shots that matters. That isn't luck. That's skill and mindset.

    Oh, MJ can dunk...

    One for your boy Kobe...

MJ's top 50 plays of all time...

And when it counts in the finals?

And now you thought I was just gonna post some clips huh? Well here is where I put the debate to rest...

    You want some stats?

    30 point games (Regular Season)
Michael Jordan -- 562 (Most Ever)
    Kobe Bryant -- 408

    40 point games (Regular Season)
Michael Jordan -- 173 (Second Most Ever Behind Wilt)
    Kobe Bryant -- 117

    50 point games (Regular Season)
Michael Jordan -- 31 (Second Most Ever Behind Wilt)
    Kobe Bryant -- 24

    60 point games (Regular Season)
    Kobe Bryant -- 5
    Michael Jordan -- 4

So Kobe had one more 60+ point game. That's it. MJ dominated the rest of this stat.

    ...............................................................................................................................................

Now lets go to where it counts... the play offs...

    30 point games (Playoffs)
Michael Jordan -- 109 (Most Ever)
    Kobe Bryant -- 88

    40 point games (Playoffs)
Michael Jordan -- 38 (Most Ever)
    Kobe Bryant -- 13

    50 point games (Playoffs)
Michael Jordan -- 8 (Most Ever)
    Kobe Bryant -- 1

    60 point games (Playoffs)
Michael Jordan -- 1 (Only Player Ever)
    Kobe? Never.

    ...............................................................................................................................................

Now lets compare when it REALLY REALLY COUNTS IN THE FINALS!

    30 point games (Finals)
Michael Jordan -- 23 (Second Most Behind Jerry West)
    Kobe Bryant -- 13

    40 point games (Finals)
Michael Jordan -- 6 (Second Most Behind Jerry West)
    Kobe Bryant -- 1

    50 point games (Finals)
Michael Jordan -- 1 (Tied with 4 other players in history)

    ..........................................................................................................................................

Okay, so now you might say, well how many games did they play? MJ played many more right?

    Career Regular Season Games
    MJ - 1072
    Kobe - 1280

    Career Playoff Games
    MJ - 179
    Kobe - 220

    Career Finals Games
    MJ - 35
    Kobe - 38

    ...............................................................................................................................................

Okay, so lets dissect these stats a bit now...

In 108 less regular season games, MJ scored...
30 or more points 154 more times
40 or more points 57 more times
50 or more points 7 more times

In 41 less playoff games, MJ scored....
30 or more points 21 more times
40 or more points 25 more times
50 or more points 7 more times

In 3 less finals games, MJ scored...
30 or more points 10 more times
40 or more points 5 more times
50 or more points 1 time and Kobe never did.

If that is not dominating, I don't know what is...

Oh yeah, lets add some more names to that denial list

    Dominique Wilkins. No Ring
    Craig Ehlo. No Ring
    Mark Price. No Ring
    Dan Majerle. No Ring
    Reggie Miller. No Ring
    Derreck Coleman. No Ring
    Chris Mullin. No Ring
    Shawn Kemp. No Ring
    Grant Hill. No Ring
Alonzo Mourning. No Ring during MJ's play
The list goes on and on...

Oh and one more name on that denial list...
    You.
    ;)

Have we ended this debate yet?

    "...drops the mic..." ;)

And he was the best player on our team as an old man playing PG and guarding the other teams best player on a team that was an historic collapse away from going to the finals---Not saying he's better than his airness, but still reallllllly good

The title of this forum needs a change such as Jordan was the NBA God. . However, great opinions all the way around.

I was @ this game! That night, Jordan still went for 89pts, 19 rebs (I KNOW, seems kinda low!), & he had 1 assist (by mistake: the ball went off Luke Longley's face & into the basket)! Yeah, he had a heart attack on the court in the 3rd quarter, they used the paddles on him & then he was good to go!:drinkapint:

Rings are won by teams. He was a ballhog. He was probably a better baseball player than he was a basketball player. He's probably a better owner than a basketball player.

Okay, Bones, now your reaching at straws. All the great scorers are ball hogs. You saying MJ is a ball hog is pretty much insinuating that Kobe isnt? LMAO!!!!!!!

Rings are won by teams and on one of the greatest dynastys in history he was the greatest player.
He left to play baseball and failed to come back and win three more rings. The team he has owned hasn't done squat. Now your showing your age or yanking my chain so hard I missed it. :)

In my earlier post, I was also going to break down each of their respective championship teams by year to compare them, but felt the scoring stats alone ended this.
Im still confident I dont need to compare the teams rosters, because I am pretty sure you will see most of Kobes' teams had a better roster 1-12.

This debate died with my original post of stats.

Thread title should be "MJ owns Kobe and the stats prove it..."

I did do a searc hat one point for MJ's greatest performances.. all I got were Michael Jackson videos. Took me a while to post that cause I started watching old dirty dianna videos and shit.

Kobe's a team player. His lightweight shoes makes teams across the country better.

OF COURSE I'M YANKING YOUR CHAIN! HAHA I kept getting more and more ridiculous seeing if you'd realize.

This is literally the dumbest time you've ever posted. That Bulls team was a squad. They should never have lost to the Knicks that year. They only did because of that bogus call on Scottie Pippen. Otherwise Pip would have a ring without Jordan.
