DaRizzle is correct. Kobe and Vitti (Lakers head trainer) have a one way relationship. If Kobe says he can go Vitti trusts him. Kobe's always had that throwback mentality and has a high threshold for pain. NBA players from the early days used to always play hurt. The culture was different then and the big money wasn't nearly what players get today and the interference of sports agents and insurance companies etc. didn't factor in.
I just can't believe the team would support that sort of choice. Why would they risk paying a player's salary when he is sitting on the bench with a gnarly hand? They would rather pay for a player who is actually doing his job, which is playing basketball, correct? It would just be idiotic for any business to make that decision. If Ronaldo (plays for Real Madrid) has a small knock on the knee he would be out for a couple of days to stop any sort of escalation. It just makes sense.
If Kobe is hurting the team PJax will bench him. The trainers & PJax feel Kobe know's his body best and they give him the opportunity to play if he wants.
I'm not talking about how well he performs, I'm talking about him risking a more serious injury. Wouldn't you rather rest a player who has a small knock for a couple of days than risk him being out for a month?
God damn im on a roll.....thanks Shape Having your SN and the word "right" or "correct" is hard to do in a sports forum...lol
