Nah, even if he meant it as sarcastic, he's one of the biggest Laker haters here. He was in this forum all week blasting all of us Laker fans trying to make us feel miserable about Kobe's possible departure.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I can't wait to see this Lakers team next season. Lets see if Kobe can lead his team to a championship like Jordan did. If not, don't mention him in the same breath.[IMG]</div>

It takes time for one man to lead his team to a championship, very much like Michael. I don't expect another title in LA next year (although the thought of it sounds nice) but these Laker squad isn't intimidating to anyone. I feel the Laker management will go with this current squad next year, but changes will be made in 2005-06, so that they can put together a better supporting cast for Kobe to work with. With all this said, I firmly believe a championship once again will arrive someday.

noting that down and will report on his retirement...personally i think lakers need to do some serious work on the player market if that is to become true.

Correction, I was making you guys feel miserable about SHaq's departure, not Kobe. [IMG]

Anyone with a brain knew Kobe would stay. The Lakers aren't stupid enough to trade the most dominant player in the game wtihour some assurance for Kobe. Or were they? [IMG]

The Lakers won't win a CHmpionship for a few decades now. Unless you wear #23 no team has one without having a dominant big man. Especially in this day and age. (e.g-TD,Big Ben, SHaq, Hakeem)

I'm no longer a Laker Hater now as I don't even have to worry about them winning anymore. [IMG] [IMG]

and anyone who thinks kobe cant lead a team i feel is in for a serious shock in the coming 2-3 years...you're writing a guy off that is 25 years old...and that is a joke...people wrote mj off when he was 25 years old too you know...saying a scoring champ couldnt lead a team to a title...16 years and 6 rings later...now everyone sucks his balls like they're coated with sugar...so ease up off of kobe already...he'll make something happen and the lakers are gonna give him the tools he needs to work with over the next couple years...kobe, sasha, and odom...i said it first...thats gonna be a powerful trio in 2 years...

Weren't the Magic the ones who were "stupid" enough to let Shaq go "with no reassurance" and absolutely no compensation. C'mon now. I can understand your jealousy from a Laker hater point of view (yes, I still consider you a Laker hater if the only time you're happy with the Lakers is if they're losing) but DECADES? By then even Orlando will have won...who knows. Maybe even 2 games.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens with the Lakers. It all depends on if they can get a reliable center and if Kobe can play to his full potential.

I've said the same also...I think Sasha will become a star in the league. It's like when Peja was drafted...teams passed on him, because they didn't know how well he would really do (it's usually like that sometimes with international players) and yet he turned out to be a pretty good player.

Good eye...yeah, the Magic aren't known for their great decisions in the first place.

Last time I checked Kobe hasn't even won the scoring title. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Win that 1st before you starting talking about leading a team to a Championship. [IMG]

And enough with the MJ comparisons. Right now, he's more close to Pippen than MJ.

BTW-He basically ruined his career to become the next "MJ" with the rape charges and dismantling the Laker Dynasty. Sorry, but he's nothing more than an ego-maniac/alledged rapist.

More ego proof by Kobe: Tries to upstage the Shaq trade by making the "Huge announcement" the following day, press conference and all. Then lies in front millions of his fans by saying he would've still been a Laker is Shaq was still here. [IMG] Comical stuff by Kobe.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">kobe, sasha, and odom...i said it first...thats gonna be a powerful trio in 2 years...</div>
Because you were dead serious, that's gotta be the funniest post I've ever read in here. All of sudden, Odom and Sasha are gonna be great players? This has nothing to do with them being a Laker does it? 99% of you didn't even know who he was till the Lakers drafted him. [IMG]

BTW-Peja was drafted 14, Sasha 27th. There's a reason for that. And last time I checked, Mitch was drafting players, NOT J.West. If it West than youmight have a case. But he's not. :thumbsdow

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Weren't the Magic the ones who were "stupid" enough to let Shaq go "with no reassurance" and absolutely no compensation. C'mon now</div>
Wait, who said they weren't 'stupid' for letting Shaq go for nothing? I agree with you, as does the rest of the world. That isn't ground-breaking news. [IMG]

Hey crazytown, I'm not even going to argue with you anymore, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, true? You may think that trading Shaq was a bad idea...but nobody knows for sure. What if he ends up like Karl Malone next year? Or...what if the Heat go to the Finals? They could very well do it. Also, Kobe was the 13th pick in the draft and was benched his first year in the league because everyone (even the Lakers) doubted him. He set the scoring record in the rookie game that year, and the rest is history. Who knows how many more rings Kobe will win, if anymore at all. Kobe had no chance of winning a scoring title with Shaq on his team...but now that he's the only credible Laker to win one, he just may...like McGrady and Iverson...yet, these guys probably won't win a ring, even if they are scoring champs.

The draft doesn't matter, either...as far as what number you go. Sasha Vujacic was picked low...and yes, I did know him beforehand, but I thought the Lakers would pass on him for a center. Okay, Peja was #14...so since Sasha was twice as late in the draft, does that mean he's going to suck? Ben Wallace wasn't even drafted...and so were alot of good players (some this year, also...Arthur Johnson and Herve Lamizana). I know alot about basketball...and I do see the Lakers with a bright future ahead of them...just not next year. They'll make the playoffs, though...write it down...but they need a few more years before they get back into championship contention.

Is there proof? Cause I have video of Kobe admitting to millions he committed adultry and alledgedly raped a woman.

You may not have the quantity but you definitely don't have the quality either. Just stick with moderating. [IMG]

Wheww relieved that's he is staying. One worry outta the way but still we have to see what the verdict will be on his case. I think everything will be good and can't wait for this upcoming season.

Adultry is VERY different than rape. I, personally, (I guess I'm a little bias) think that Kobe's innocent. Since when does Kobe need to resort to rape to have sex with a beautiful woman? He's not exactly an ugly (or poor) dude. That being said, adultry is wrong, too, but do you really think he's the only NBA player whose cheated on his wife?

As sad as I am to say, though, you might be right about one thing. Without Shaq things are gonna be a LOT harder for Kobe. But who knows? Maybe he IS the next generation Jordan.

the MJ KOBE comparisons are done because he has so many traits of Jordan

He has the closest type of game with him (you know like moves=turnaround, reverses, etc.) and stepping up when the game is on the line.

His game is like his...Not that he's better, or he's in the same breath as him. He has the potential though, he's like Jordan in a different environment.
