The reason that the prosecution is backing out is because Kate Faber is not willing to testify. Not sure about this info.

Kobe Bryant cleared of sexual charges? Thank you Jesus. Now Kobe no longer has to fight this ordeal that has plagued him for an entire year now. He can go back to playing carefree basketball for an entire 82 game season with his basketball team, the Lakers, without worrying about controversy on his back with a big shadow hovering over him every second of the day when he wakes up in the morning, and when he sleeps at night. But let this be a lesson to not only Kobe, but for us young men in general, to be careful of our surroundings, who we're with, know exactly what we're doing before trouble lingers around, and most importantly not cheat on our wives that love us dearly.

Eagle County used a lot of money and resources to try to prosecute Kobe. Why bring about charges if you aren't going follow through w/ your prosecution? I've been disinterested w/ this case ever since Kobe decided to play last season out. Congratulations are in order for Kobe if he is innocent. If he was guilty I hope that this is his last victim.

I just saw on NBC that both sides are trying to find a deal on the civil suit as well. Please, people that are trying to bring up negative points or claim Kobe as a "rapist" or saying "he shouldn't rape someone again, it could backfire"....You have no proof that he raped her, because if he did then he would have continued to be prosecuted so bringing up "rape" is uncalled for from now on, as well as ignorant. Let Lakers fan breathe a sigh of relief and scream in joy for a while because the franchise player can finally fully concentrate on basketball and his family and nothing else. I hope he doesn't give that girl one cent and instead countersues.
