VC, Nique, (maybe Kobe, TMac, JRich, ahh too lazy to name some) > Jordan.

    Real talk.</div>

I would put VC and 'Nique over Jordan in (slam-dunk contest) dunking but not Kobe, T-Mac, etc. However, Nique still should have won the '88 contest (IMO).

Steve Francis was actually a better slam-dunk contest dunker than T-Mac. Almost all of his dunks in the '00 contest were ridiculous and he had quite a vertical as well. T-Mac choked in the semi finals, and kept on repeatedly trying the same type of dunks (the bounce off the floor dunks) over and over again to the point that it got ANNOYING.

This brings me to another point...2001 had perhaps the worst dunk contest I have ever seen. Anyone remember Corey Maggette doing that stupid front-flip and then normally dunking the ball in? Or Deshawn Stevenson doing a normal windmill and then doing that stupid dance (Antoine style) afterwards?

I don't know. TMac and Kobe are moreso imitatorsthan inventors in dunking and can do just about the same dunks JRich and DMase can do (imitated, of course) + they can get up higher (ESPECIALLY when Kobe and TMac were younger, they got up higher and longer than DMase and JRich). But yeah, JRich is definitely not on VC's level.

I don't agree. I have T-Mac's performance on tape and he got up, but he lacked the hang-time that D-Mase or even Jrich had. I DEFINETLY could not see TMac (even in his dunking prime), getting up in the air and putting it through his legs while jumping from as far as D-Mase did. That dunk by DMase was seriously one of the most underrated dunks I have ever seen. The dude literally looked like he flew in the air when he did that dunk. J-Rich's "backwards through the legs" beat it though.

Somebody really needs to try a 360 through the legs. I can actually do that dunk with a small ball on a net (it's difficult though) but if a NBA player did it it would be awesome.

And VC blows Jordan out of the water in terms of dunking...but Jordan is still the king of hang-time.

I actually meant including in-game dunking as well when i said they were better dunkers than Jordan. I'm still not bought on Jordan being a better dunker than TMac though. TMac had much more power on his dunks and was a tad bit more athletic. Also, Kobe in his 'physical' prime (21-24) was more athletic than Jordan as well (speed, hops), and he dunked the ball Jordan never could. In-game, he's a better dunekr than Jordan, but in the contest it really didn't seem like he put much preperation into it and it was a 'moment' thing (hence, he did the EXACT same dunks in his high school dunk contest). Whereas Jordan spent a whole day into his dunks preparing for the contest and really maybe one was absolutely mind-boggling (reverse cock-back side jam).

He's like a less-refined version of Vince Carter (Power + Creativity). However, like previously stated i still say Kobe was a better dunker (in-game for sure, not as a dunk contest participant). If not, they're about on the same level.

word. Jordan musta had abs-o-steel. He also had great technique on staying in the air a little longer (being a long & high jumper myself). But when all is said and done, VC > 'Nique >>>>> Jordan.
