If I where the Laker's I would trade for Oden (or Durant) Randolph, Jack and some picks, I would take it. To trade for some amazing rookie, a solid PG for Kobe, I would so do it. IF the Laker's have a Chance to re-build and it doesn't involve Kobe, so be it. He isn't in a rebuilding point in his career. It's all about vets and winning right now.

<div class="quote_poster">Brian Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I'd pass on Grant Hill. He has all the makings of our previous MLE busts. Old and injury prone, just like Aaron McKie and Vlade Divac. I'd take him for cheap, no question asked, but I'd much rather spend our MLE on a point guard, like Charlie Bell or Steve Blake</div>

To be fair, Grant Hill was at one time considered the most dynamic G/F since Magic Johnson, and people were already planning his jersey retirement. Vlade and McKie were both, at their absolute best, nice pieces on good teams. Divac in particular was something like 38 when he signed, wasn't he?

It's certainly a risk, yes, but this is the kind of risk that got the Lakers rings not too long ago. Aging, former superstars who could still contribute at a high level in limited minutes... guys like Harper, Rice. Hell, it almost worked with Payton and Malone, but Karl got injured and Gary got shown up.

Grant Hill, even as old and rickety as he is, still becomes the second best pure basketball player, and probably the best locker room presence on the Lakers if he signs. At this point, it wouldn't matter much, because the other players aren't near good enough for the team to be any better than they were this year. But if he can keep in good shape for a few years, he might pay dividends.

    QUESTION!!!

Why not offer Lamar and Bynum for Bosh and Dixon?

Do you think they would accept? or are the Raptors already set for the future?

No freaking way. The Raps won't give up Bosh as easy as that... if they did, do you really think he would be playing there by now? You have to realize that you can't just trade for a star player like Bosh when you only have mediocre players to offer.

You are kidding right? Bosh is a huge franchise player. He is like a LeBron, Carmelo and Wade. That is like saying trading Lamar + Bynum for LeBron James. Not going to happen buddy...[IMG]
