I thought of a reason I'd boo: To counter balance the fucktard Laker Flakers who invade our house and cheer. Fuck those Flaker fans piss me off. I have no problem having a friendly rivalry with visiting fans in general. But those douche bag Lakers fans are a special kind of douche. Fuck them. The more they cheer the more Blazers fans have a duty to drown them out.
I think I was at Kobe's last great game. It was at the Rose Garden in April 2013. Dame had 38 points (and 9 assists) and Kobe had 47 points 8 rebounds 5 assists 3 steals 4 blocks in a win. Then he played two more games and got hurt. He was never the same again. I also, several years earlier, saw him score 65 points against the Blazers at Staples. All he had to do was touch the ball and throw up a shot and it went in. Incredible display of talent.
I'm so worried about this game. No, not because of whether the Blazers will win or not. I'm worried about the ticket prices for one. I definitely want to see at least one Blazers v. Lakers game this season, but you know, with the dynamic pricing that the Blazers will jack up that ticket cost. Also, I'm afraid he'll hear his name chanted throughout the night just as he has in road venues Washington and Philadelphia recently. I really hope Portland fans boo and boo heavily. It's only right. He's been our most disliked villain over the course the last 15+ years, and cheering, even out of respect, just doesn't sit right with me. We don't cheer for Kobe and we don't cheer for the Lakers. I hope I'm wrong, but I could see him getting a decent ovation after the game.
I was at that 65 point game too. Honestly that's when most of my kobe hatred went away i left that game in a state of shock and gained some respect. I only hated him not for him but because he was a laker. sent from a phone you've probably never heard of
Ill be at this game. 1/23/16. Ill cheer him if the crowd cheers him. I wont boo him if the crowd boos him, but I'm not starting anything either way. I hope he doesn't get booed though. We are in transition. I want our team to show classiness from top to bottom. That means management, players AND fans. We want top tear free agents? Then lets start showing top tier players more respect.
Sold it for 4 times what I paid for it, and he probably won't even be playing (second night of a back-to-back, following the sperms on Friday night). Thanks, cobie!
He's not a top tier player this year. And us booing him wont have an effect on people coming here. There's not many in Kobe's air in terms of career, and if we were trying to entice those guys, they are probably already used to getting booed out of respect..
...after he bricks his 18th shot of the game I think that most appropriate send-off would if the entire arena chanted "OVER-RATED!!! OVER-RATED!!! OVER-RATED!!"
He hasn't been top tier for a few years, lol. But he was at one time, for many years. I just think it would show class to those who are and/or are upcoming top tiers, that we respect them. If Portland truly is a black hole.. forgotten land, then any and every little tiny bit we can do to change that would help, no?
But see, we are quietly becoming the next California. Hell half of them have moved up here over the last decade anyhow. With global warming and all that. I know a few people who have healthy Palm trees in Beaverton hills. We will get there. We just need to build a Hollywood sign in the Hollywood district!!! Then they will all come here and bask in the..rain.
Like him or not Kobe as a player deserves top respect. The guy's a worrier. He maybe not the best player now but he is the most epic player today.
