Man minstrel you are just buying into this KP stuff. I don't know, maybe you are right and KP isn't just blowing smoke. Or maybe if KP offered more money than Toronto, all of a sudden Turk loves Ptd. This isn't a girlfriend, this is an employee/employer relationship. Intel has some of the best and brightest engineers working here in Hillsboro . . . and I don't think it is because Hillsboro reminds them of their home country. In other words I think KP is using the fact that Turk likes the city of Toronto better as a justification for why it is good thing the Blazers couldn't lock down Turk. But whatever, it's done . . . I want less management talking and more management action . . . and in the end I don't care how long it takes, as long as something is done this summer (this summer is the summer KP and co have been talking about for 2 years)
I think I've been fairly clear in saying that I do think Pritchard is blowing smoke. Remember my amazement that people expect to hear actual insights into Pritchard's thinking from him? I just don't think your logic passes muster on this one, that's all. I'm not saying that Pritchard and Turkoglu were romantically involved (if they were, it wouldn't have been an analogy, after all). I'm saying that it's logically consistent to believe that something would be great if the other person were interested also, but to also believe that if the other person is not interested, then it's probably best for all concerned to part ways. Maybe. Of course, Pritchard didn't have more money to offer, so...not sure the relevance of this. I'm completely neutral to how much management talking there is, but also interested in action. So we sortof agree, though not exactly!
I thought the Blazers could renounce the rights to the Euros and gain some more cap room. Also, if Hedo was really KP's guy and KP and Penn are as savy as they have been given credit . . . they should have anticpated a possible Toronto slap and not picked up TO's contract giving them more room. If money was the issue, then Blazers miscalculated or figured Hedo wasn't worth letting TO or the euros go.
Well, that is true. But that wouldn't have closed the gap between the two offers, I don't think. Or thought it wasn't worth the risk to let Outlaw/Blake go before even seeing if a free agent would bite their delicious money hook.
There are a lot of details they could be discussing - front or back loaded, player or team option, incentives, whatever. If both sides want the deal done, which seems to be the case, they will have "amicable" discussion where one party says OK I'll give you A now give me B. And Mr. Canzano, I don't really think Roy wants Paul Allen's underpants - I'm sure he has plenty of his own. And if he's lucky, his partner chooses them.
