Suns are just throwing their future right out the window right now, and giving up a solid PF/C who can score and defend well in the post in Kurt Thomas wasn't a good decision by the Suns management, considering the fact that the Suns' backups are pretty weak. Behind Amare and Marion, they basically have no big man who can contribute (and that was Kurt Thomas). The 'finding cap room' idea shouldn't be the plan, anymore, either.
Conversation between Suns and Sonics managementSuns: Howabout Kurt Thomas for Robert Swift and a second rounder?Sonics: ROBERT SWIFT? That's highway robbery. We expect him to be putting up 7 points per game in a couple of years.Suns: Howabout Kurt Thomas for a second rounder?Sonics: Hmmm....We were planning on drafting a young raw potential player who will never amount to anything but we'll let him go. Throw in a couple of first rounders and you've got yourselves a deal.
Actually it doesn't save us $8m it saves $16m!!! Thats a F*ck load of money. I still fancy the Suns chances against any team, Spurs included. I really can't get into the stupid debate again, the Suns will just have to prove people wrong when the season starts. As far as I can see the Suns have lost KT and James Jones. They have gained Grant Hill, Alando Tucker. Banks can only improve, STAT will continue to improve, DJ looks to be able to compete at least.
