Who in their right mind would rather Kyrie over Brunson? Tf are they doing lol? Kyrie drama is never ending, he’s like poison to a locker room.
The whole thing to me just reeks of a bad situation. That Nets team was finally actually winning. They fired a coach who other coaches said was doing a good job such as Steve Kerr and Eric Spoelstra. They finally get Ben Simmons back and playing consistently as he can at least. They have a 32-20 record and are sitting 4th in the East. How Toxic does a situation have to be to get a player to ask out from a team like that? I'm not sure the Mavericks have made a good decision here? How long before this guy decides he doesn't like the attention or lack of that he is getting and does something else to put himself back into the spotlight? As i understand that is Luka's team. I don't see Kyrie going to that team and just becoming a second fiddle guy that just wants to win and doesn't care about his numbers or attention.
Kyrie is a name people know, that's why so many think this was a steal for him but don't realize that putting together a team isn't some fantasy basketball roster. As @Fairly-Hard laid out above, Irving was in a great situation and chose to publicly demand a trade as things were looking good on the court. He's a head case and has only ever been able to win when he had the 2nd greatest player of all time next to him. I actually like this deal for Brooklyn, no they didn't get the stupid haul that Minny got, but Goebert (to my knowledge) never demanded a trade and never had the off court issues that this dumbass Kyrie has either.
On a different note ... I do LOVE that Joe Tsai (Nets owner) said "I don't care where we send this douche nozzle but he's not going to the Lakers, because that's where he wants to go!"
I know the prevailing narrative is always that you don't want to upset the 'agent' and they might direct players away from your team in the future but I always wonder how true that really is.
I’ll say that any time we have heard the flip side (our GM did said agent a favor) I don’t feel like it ever did Jack shit for us.
So not an inner city situation. There’s no way you haven’t heard that saying if you at any point lived in the inner city of a major metropolis. Ya’ll is its country cousin. In all my life growing up, I never heard anybody say ya’ll except in movies , HA!
