Kobe's come thru in countless pressure situations. One lousy fourth quarter in a regular season game isn't gonna change that. But Kobe, Luke, and Ronny are the only guys on the team who consistently show effort. I'm the biggest Lakers fan you'll meet, and I'll never give up on this team, but I can say honestly that this team does not deserve to call themselves a playoff team or a good team. Now I'm hoping to God that they prove me wrong, but as of now, it looks that way.</div>While I understand what your saying it doesn't mean they still don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Did you forget about the whole first half of the season when the Lakers were challenging for the 3rd or 4th seed in the West? They were a great team for the first half of the season and they got struck by the injury bug and they haven't been the same since even with Luke and Odom being back. I'm not saying they have an excuse for playing bad right now but I think they deserve it based on how the played the whole first half of the season.

Dirk does miss free throws though not often. He missed one earlier that game as well. 90% is no gimme. He was clutch though in game 7 against the spurs making that free throws to take it to overtime. It gets annoying that Dirk gets singled out for choking more than anyone out there. Everyone chokes.</div>Kobe was clutch in game 5 in the playoffs though

This is a lame topic because every superstar has his clutch and choke moments.

The fact is Kobe doesn't know how to run his team without Shaq. Dirk does know how despite not having a big man. More pressure is put on Dirk to be the man and Miami was double teaming Dirk and other players weren't making shots. The whole Dallas team slumped at the same time.

So Dirks excuse is he was getting double teamed? Kind of like how Kobe gets double or triple teamed every game even though it doesn't stop him. I'm not gonna even bother responding to your comment that Dirk has more pressure on him to lead his team...

Remember in 2000 when he took over Game 4 when Shaq fouled out, scoring the last 8 points in Overtime at the age of 21? He got the game winner in that series. He played great against Philly the next year and New Jersey as well. As I've said he's proven. In Game 7 last year he had 23 points at halftime and LA was still down by 15. It was obvious that for them to win Kwame and Lamar would have to step up. So they ran the offense thru them, they didn't deliver. And the Lakers lost.

Edit. I might come around once in a while but I obviously am a misfit here. People already established me as a biased homer and it is hard to change an image.

EVERYONE on this site has this same general opinion and you differ yet you believe you are right and everyone else is wrong. Think about it. If all the members on this site including non Laker fans believe something then maybe you should think about your opinion, and how you might be in the wrong.

That's controlling your destiny as much as you can, but having your past catch up to you.
