<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah Zankou is a good call. The garlic sauce is delicious. El Tepiac is the best place for Mexican food. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mel JBB:</div><div class="quote_post">Try Zankou Chicken...I grew up in Saudi Arabia and I can tell you that Zankou has the best middle-easter food around. I recommend the Chicken Tarnas. http://www.zankouchicken.com/</div> maybe it's just the pics, but those look delicious... do u know what they marinate it with tho? Also, it doesn't look like they give rice...not sure if i can get filled without rice , lol

But that's why i'm asking what it's marinated in. My mouth is watering just thinking about it ...

I think they have rice, but it tastes good with the pita bread. Zankou is a chain, so they are all over LA. I usually go to the one on Colorado St. in Pasadena. It's right by the Community college. Kobe 8 Ball the best restaurants in the SD area is in Del Mar. I recommend Jimmy O's, they have a nice sports bar and the bar food is damn good. And all the waitresses are FOINE.
Have you guys tried National Sports Grill across from Angel's stadium? SI ranked them in their top 25 sports bars in America, but I've never been there ... How's the food? Pricey?

The best time to go is when the Raiders or Steelers play, because it gets packed and brings out a lot of rowdy fans. It's definitely overpriced for what you get.

wow, this was my favorite thread so i'm upping this thing... I've eaten a bunch of new places since the last time this thread was active... um... There is this joint called Gogi next to the San Gabriel Hilton that is good stuff...It's a table BBQ buffett joint. You have a bbQ thing at your table, and you go over to the buffet to pick out what stuff you want to BBQ. You take it to the table and cook it yourself. They got pork, different types of marinated beef, different types of marinated chicken etc... Don't fill yourself up on the rice tho, otherwise you wont get your money's worth on the meat... I must have eaten 4 bowls of rice (cuz it's hard for me to eat meat without rice), lol ... It's about $15 a person, so it aint too pricey Here's the link: http://www.gogiusa.net/ I also tried Robin's BBQ in Pasadena, near Foothill Blvd...Supposedly, it's like the best BBQ joint in the entire Los Angeles area. It was pretty good, altho I'm not a big ribs kinda guy so I couldn't tell you if it lives up to its reputation. http://robinsbbq.com/ I went high end and ate at Morton's Steakhouse on La Cienega ...BEST STEAK I'VE EVER TASTED ... too bad it cost $45 a steak!!!!! A meal for two was $110 + ... but if you like steaks and you got the cash, you should give this joint a try. http://www.mortons.com/website/index.html That's off the top of my head, lol ... any joints u guys wanna share that's worth a try?
I just found out today that there's a Roscoes on Lake in Pasadena ... I've never come across it before tho, so i'm gonna be on the lookout...before, the only one I knew was in Hollywood..

They also have a location in Pasadena, a few streets down from Roscoes. Order any of the smothered food at M&M's and you'll be satisfied. I agree NMG, Morton's is the best steak in town. I eat there as much as possible, it's really not that expensive considering you leave there full and very satisfied. Which one did you go to? So far the best one in SoCal I've been to is the one in Beverly Hills. One restaurant to avoid is Crustaceans. Completely overrated and PRICEY. Good call on ZPizza Mel. Their salads are really good, too. All this food talk is making hungry, but it's 1:45am and no of those places are open. Chicken and waffles would be perfect right now. Damn you Mel.

Damn you Mel. </div> I've only been to Morton's once, and it was the Beverly Hills one. For a guy who is use to getting the $5.99 Steak and Eggs at Norms, $45 is very very pricey for me. Especially when for $45, all u get is the steak, no sides at all. You have to buy the sides seperately. My gf wanted me to take her to Crustaceans. I'm not much of a seafood kinda guy anyways, and now that you're saying its overrated, I'm even less inclined to try it out, lol.. A place that I've always thought was overrated was Lawry's. I mean, that place gets so much hype, but I never really get filled there (eaten there 2-3 times), and while there meat is good, it isn't that good. I've never had Zpizza, might check it out sometime...but on the pic that Mel posted, it looks like CPK pizza...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">I've never had Zpizza, might check it out sometime...but on the pic that Mel posted, it looks like CPK pizza...</div> They have a buncha good flavors to try. Check out their site: www.zpizza.com
Check out Philly's Best for some authentic philly cheesesteaks. They got cheese whiz and the bread rolls are shipped in directly from philly. There's lotsa locations around SoCal. www.eatphillysbest.com
Chicken and Waffles??? ESPNZone was freaking delicious. ONe of the best restaurants I've eaten at. But, I'd rather throw down chicken cordon bleu.
Discovered a new sushi joint in Tustin ... Honda Ya. Great food and a chill environment. They also have Japanese beers by the pitcher!
