james had two threes in the final minute... just when i thought another dramatic three pointer by him would tie the game at 109, this Maurice carter guy exceuted his two free throws... nice run for the cavs... yeah, like you said kj, cavs showed potential... go strong in next game guys!

That was more Cavs basketball than I've seen all season and I am impressed. I didn't know Eric Williams could own Rick Fox in the post like that and the Cavs big men put in a solid effort, outrebounding the Lakers, but Shaq was just too much.

KJ: I didn't think that last shot by James where Boozer was there to set a pick had anything to do with lack of communication. It looked to me like James saw the pick and didn't want it. It just wasn't a good shot and it was definitely forced. I think James was trying to show up Payton a little bit.

James could have got a much better shot over Payton, who LeBron towers over. When Boozer was coming up the right side, James only had one place to go, left, and fading away on the 3 point line.

    Terrible shot, no excuse.

We missed Tony Battie badly late in the game. We also could'ev used ruben Boumje boumje. Anyone know when ruben will be back he could be good depth for us.

It's true that Battie would have given the Cavs more defense inside and if nothing else, 6 more fouls on Shaq, but the keep in mind that the Lakers can say that they could have used Malone and Bryant.

A few reasons why we lost...

    1. Shaq bitches. Both our centers foul out. I don't think this is a coincidence.

    2. With 35 seconds left, we let them inbound the ball from midcourt right to Shaq 3 feet from the hoop so all he has to do is turn and draw the foul. You have to at least make them work for it.

    3. The Ollie, Newble, and Diop line up. This line up is NOT good Silas. Sitting Lebron and Boozer at the same time for extended periods of time is not wise. Miraculously we managed to maintain our slim lead over the Lakers, but we could have been extending it during that time.

    4. We have no plays. I would love to sit in our practice and see what the hell we do offensively.

    5. Z stepping in the lane on a free throw. Inexcusable.

    6. To compound that we didn't box out on the next miss. This happens way too often to us. Thats the 3rd one in the last couple of weeks that has absolutely killed us. (Miller against the Kings was the dagger in that game in the same situation)

Well, the big men fouled out, then the game went to hell. I wish they would've given Ilgauskas that block (waiting on my avvy, KJ) on Payton, though. He actually jumped for it.

LeBron, McInnis, and Williams were good, Boozer was great, but uh... He had to guard Shaq later in the game, and that was the end of it. Oh man, Lakers win again.

I missed that oop that James caught and imitated Shaq, though. Pisses me off.

Shaq drew some cheap fouls on Diop and Z by smashing his forarm into their grills to get position, thaose calls should have been the other way around.

redscoon: Your third reason why the Cavs lost is the one that really hits home with me. When Silas took Boozer and James out, I figured it was for a quick breather. I guess I was wrong. What was Silas thinking?

I question that myself people, why Silas sat Boozer and James for as long as he did is a huge question mark.

How the Cavs held on to that lead without those 2 is a shock to me.

Great effort for the Cavs even though the Lakers are beat up and very beatable. They proved they can hang with just about anyone.

ok people, enough Newble bashing. Ira actually plays defense and can rebound. Brown does not use his athletic ability at all, just standing out by the 3 point line. Kid has no handles either.

Until I see Brown hustle and take it to the rack dunking on people like we know he can, he can sit there.

Who cares? Newble and Brown are both poor to decent players and don't have any effect on the outcome of the game.

Tell that to Newble who blocked Dwyane Wade's attempt at a game winning shot in a HUGE game against the Heat last week [IMG]

I stand corrected. I don't catch a lot of Cavs games. [IMG]

The Cavs had SEVENTEEN more shots than the Lakers, yet they still lost. Somebody mind explaining that?

You know better than to say that the Cavs have "no deep threats/outside shooting." Your boy KJ put on a pretty decent display of that at the end of the game and Wagner hit a big three with about 9:00 left in the third quarter.
