With about 5 minutes left, the Warriors still hold an 11 point lead. Van Exel just hit a CLUTCH 3-pointer with 1 on the shot clock.

Lets hope he has some more of that in him...

I think they more than competed Rudeezy, it must be those damn retro jerseys. The Warriors are killing us on the boards and we can't make free throws, 45% on the night...YUCK!

    FINAL
    Warriors 107
    Lakers 98

Warriors Win! The Warriors out played the Lakers, Period.

    1. The Warrriors bench IS superrior to the Lakers bench.
    2. The Warriors not only competed, they WON!

Dampier out played Shaq on the night. He was getting the rebounds when it counted. Shaq was horrible on the line, embarrassing but whats new.

Van Exel and Robinson were HUGE in the fourth quarter, both coming up with clutch baskets.

The Game Ball goes to Claxon. He out played Payton. He created havoc on D and also had a great offensive night.

    Great Win for the W's!

Great game Warriors. Dampier really stepped it up. I think he's back. Van Exel was clutch yet again. Great win overall.

Man that was a great game! Filled with highlights and exciting plays... the Warriors pulled off an incredible victory after 2 straight losses to mediocre (at best) Eastern Conference teams, beating the best team in the league. 5 players in double figures. Dampier did a great job, holding Shaq to just 5 rebounds, and posting numbers of 17 and 11, despiting playing only about 29 minutes or so. I hope that the Warriors ride the momentum of this win to the Kings win, and continue sending strong messages to the rest of the league- they ain't ready to die yet.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND, Calif. (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors did not disappoint the biggest crowd in franchise history.

Speedy Claxton scored 10 of his 19 points in the second quarter and Erick Dampier outplayed Shaquille O'Neal in limited minutes as the Warriors posted a 107-98 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Playing in front of a crowd of 20,310, Golden State overcame a sluggish start and controlled the final three quarters against the best team in the NBA. Los Angeles (20-6) fell into a tie with the Sacramento Kings for the league's top record. </div>

this was definitely a game the warriors were fired up for, especially at home with a big crowd...even though you could hear fiendish lakers fans cheering, and the retro jerseys. they really wanted this win. good game...scary 3pters at the end of the game, but speedy is clutch on the foul line...so was jrich, believe it or not. nice game...i was very impressed and excited while watching it. gotta love california rivalries. good game lakers. i think we stole one.

btw, troy murphy practically had a double double with like 25 minutes. it was GREAT to see him back. [IMG]

Great win by Golden State, they stood up on the back of some ordinary results and showed a lot of heart tonight. The West playoff race is going to be VERY interesting.

How does a 7 foot 340+ lbs man get only 5 boards in a game...That's the second time this season Dampier outplayed Shaq....

Brilliant play agasint Shaq tonight.

I am having my doubts about putting Damp on the trading block now...

Too bad Dampier only decided to elevate his game during a contract season.

It's hard to elevate your game when you hang out 24/7 at strip clubs and night clubs. He learned those bad habits from Chris Gatling.
