The Center position in the West is so weak now that it is begging Bynum to take an All-Star spot next season.
I'm not completely sure yet. I'm thinking somewhere in the 12/10 and 2.5 blocks area. That'd be ideal. We don't need him to score. We need him to clean the glass, get easy hoops and defend our paint. We have Kobe, Gasol, Artest and (probably) Odom to take the bulk of the scoring load.
Agreed. I think, the only way he doesn't make it is if Yao some how plays next season, which doesn't seem too likely right now.
I would be kind of disappointed but if he can play every game healthy, I'd take that. We need some consistency, I don't want to see Powell on the court that much again. I would expect a bit more offense from Andrew but maybe he has to share some time with Lamar too.
See, I'm going to lowball him in his scoring intentionally here. We don't need him to score. We have 4 other guys who can do that more effectively than him. I want him to focus his energy on defense and rebounding. If he does average closer to 15/10 or so, that'd be great too, but as long as he's getting 12ppg and at least 10rpg, I'll be happy with that since we're so loaded and have all sorts of players who can score.
I didn't really think about that. Who knows, we'll see what happens, though I do think he'd have a good chance of being there since there isn't much for C's out West at the moment.
Yeah I want Andrew to feel doubted, He's got a lot of money to live up too. I'm still surprised he was playing at half-speed and didn't re-injure himself.
I don't want him to feel doubted, because that could kill his morale and make him play worse, I just don't want to put too much pressure on him. 12/10 isn't really much pressure. Plus, do you think he really needs to do much than that?
If he can stay healthy he just seems like the type that can average 15 easily. I think he and Pau still got around that when they played together earlier on. 12/10 is great though if you think about it.
I agree that he can average 15 easily, but I don't think this team needs him to do that. We have Kobe, Odom, Gasol and Ron, all capable of average 15+ppg, plus a deep bench. While it'd be nice for him to get that kind of an average, it's not necessary. And he was averaging about 14ppg last season before he got hurt, but we also didn't have Artest, and he's going to be taking shots away from 'Drew. The only way Bynum averages 15ppg this season, I think, is he is an absolute beast on the offensive glass and gets tons of put-backs.
If Bynum is healthy, I think he'll get more touches than Odom. When Odom was a bench player, he wasn't that effective scoring-wise. I don't think Odom's scoring should be high priority. His rebounding and his leadership on the 2nd unit is perfect. I think IF healthy, Drew should be able to put up 15 and 10.
Well...it's about 3:30 in the morning here in Iowa, so it's time for me to hit the sack. I get the joy of working in about 12hrs, then I'm off for the weekend. I'm going to Chicago with the girlfriend, as well as my brother and his girlfriend, to go to Six Flags Great America on the 4th, so it should be a damn good weekend. If I'm not around tomorrow, hope everyone has a great 4th of July!
Just saw on the ESPN bottom line that Iverson was interested in the Grizzlies, hahahaha. So much for wanting to win a title. If the Grizz are smart, they don't add him. They already added one headcase with Randolph, they don't need to add another one and corrupt the great youth of that team.
