LA = laid back. NY = I wouldn't say hectic, because hectic is usually stressful. NY is just always on the go. I love it. Plus the people out there, the people on the east coast, are generally tougher than these West Coast softies out here. That has been shown through sports, minus the Lakers!
I love NY. I love visiting there, but living there is another story. I would definitely need to live in Manhattan. I would never live in LA. Ever. San Francisco is beautiful though, thats definitely on my list as well. And San Diego is ok. And Mamba, you been to Chicago? No city (in the US, at least) compares to Chitown culture. And the nightlife is amazing. Although, I'm a tad biased.
I don't think you can go wrong with either location. I'd favor LA more because of the weather because I like being outdoors. My friends in NY usually leave during the winter because the weather is unbearable and too much of a hassle to go anywhere. I'd say NY is a better city if you enjoy an active nightlife and LA is better if you enjoy daytime activities. LA nightlife is amazing, but NY just has more options.
Shape you live in LA, right? I've always heard living in the Bay area was much better than SoCal, care to defend that? For example, I've been to LA plenty of times, and I have to say, it doesn't compare to San Fran. But to be fair, my opinion is worth a penny compared to people who actually live in Cali.
I actually grew up right in the heart of San Francisco and moved to SoCal about 10 years ago. I live in the OC now and not in LA. San Francisco is probably my second favorite city (second to Geneva Switzerland). I plan to retire in San Francisco at some point. Most of my family still lives up there and I visit at least once a month. The only problems with SF is that it can feel small when you're still in that partying stage of your life. You start seeing the same people over and over again. Also it takes time to get used to the unpredictable weather for most people. You don't get a true summer if you live in SF. But overall lifestyle I think SF is the best city in the U.S. What type of law do you plan to do?
I've never been to Chicago itself. I've been to a suburb and it was nice. It is definitely on my places to visit list. 4-0 Angels in the top of the 1st! This shit isn't ending tonight mother fuckers!
I have a lot of family in SF so i know exactly what you mean. But its just so absolutely beautiful that I can look past all the crazy weather (and some of the crazy hippies). And I'm probably going to do corporate law (though i'd feel like a sellout).
