I see no difference between Vogel and Stotts.

I dont see Lebron playing for Stotts. I do think he could be sucessful with LBJ and AD. But Terry isnt hip enough for Lebron. Mark Jackson gets the job I say.

LeBron wants a coach that allows him (LeBron) to do what he wants to do. The issue with the Lakers wasn't coaching, it was injuries to AD (a coach won't change that) and the horrible combo of Westbrook and LeBron (a coach won't change that either).

Honestly, the Lakers would be better off trading LeBron to someone else and get away from him. He's still insanely good, but father time is starting to kick his ass, and it's likely he'll be leaving in a year anyways.

Of the 3 big stars they have, he's really the only one that has any trade value. No one is going to trade for Westbrook (of any value), and AD is injury prone.

Vogel at least pretends that he cares about defense.

Really? They seem like very different coaches to me. I can't remember what your overall feeling on Stotts was in terms of scheme, leadership style, etc. but those two differ in many areas to me.

The fact you assume AD is going to be playing is the best part lol.

Vogel has done more with more talent than Stotts ever had and less with more talent.

I’m speaking of the figurehead of Laker HC. I see a white retread middle aged guy coaching Lebron and it not working. I like Stotts, but I also like Vogel. I don’t think guys like that will be successful with that team. Add in David Blatt. It isn’t going to work.

That roster doesn’t care what Vogel wanted or taught. Totally uncoachable team when you are anything less than a Phil Jackson type. Championship winner. Spoelstra etc.

Enes Kanter playing up at the screen was better in b the WCF than playing drop and letting Steph get wide open 3s by design. But it took a toll of media backlash for him to change it. And even after having the wrist defense in the league for two years, he still didn't change shit. "Nurk with a broken leg or Enis Kanter and Melo" obviously weren't suited to run what he was running either, but somehow this dude still has an excuse to not have tried anything defensively.

I can't argue that "Drop Coverage" was the right call. I also can't say what they were dealing with for certain. I do know the Blazers were on a 36 hour turnaround for game one in that series after a grueling 7 game series vs the Nuggets.
I know that Kanter was basically playing with one arm, Amino was nursing a a bad ankle and played only a total of 62 minutes over 4 games. I know things were so bad Meyers Leonard started 2 games after it was obvious Enes was getting abused. I also know Lillard was nursing a knee injury and now it sounds like he was also dealing with abdominal pain.
I know that losing Game two changed that series. They never should have lost game 4 either.
The Blazers were reduced to playing Meyers Leonard and Evan Turner with Rodney Hood more minutes than players who started all season. Very tough series.
