How about that? This really sucks. Just when we thought we were going to go on a roll. It'll take time to get over this loss but a win over the suns tommorow night will do. Kobe's teammates did not let him down. The game should have been over. It's all just critical mistakes and I am sure phil will adjust that. Remember were young and we just saved Rick Adelman's job.
I totally agree. I think Odom just made a big mistake driving in too early. Lakers failed to make the defensive stops at the end to shut out the game even with Kobe scoring 50+. Kobe can't pass to other players (Luke Walton) if they are not confident to shoot it! So stop hating on Kobe.
I am pissed stupid mistakes by Odom... and dumb mistakes by Kwame not stepping on to defend the three. When thats all the kings needed to tie the game!! And wtf is Odom trying to make the game winning shot for... throw it to Kobe. Great game though just not in the end stupid fouls by Mihm Also got fouled out...
OMG I dont believe this. WTF is wrong with charles barkley. Those guys are talking about how kobe was frustrated and the other guys said he should be and Crapley said kobe just took stupid shots.

He doesn't even think Jordan was the best player ever. The execution down the stretch by Kobe's teammates just proves to me that right now he cannot trust them during critical times down the stretch. He took alot of difficult shots and made more than half of them. He literally has to for them to win. If Kobe passes the ball instead of takes those shots we don't even go to OT.
Your damn skippy we dont go overtime. But one must learn how to hold the ball and milk the clock and also learn that when you have 4 seconds on the clock in the 4th quarter the ball belongs to Kobe Bean!
I noticed Kobe did try to get his players involved by like one of the TNT analyst said I forgot who. Everytime Kobe passes it up "Brick" "Brick" Barkley is a hater!! lol its kinda funny though...
just close the thread, what's the point. we all saw the game, we know who ******ed up, and I'll tell you one thing, it ain't #8. so sick of seeing sh!t like this, with all those bullshit shots kobe had to throw up at the end, he still shot almost 50 percent. if it wasn't for High Def TV, i'd never watch TNT, I can't stand Barkley. Kobe makes 48 straight consecutive free throws, you guys remember that game where he went 5/11 and I was sayin "what's up with that, he's shooting free throws like LeBron" Look at how Kobe adjusts, 48 in a row, simply amazing, it just pisses me off that we have to lose a 5 point lead with 35 secs left.
Odom is a knucklehead. I hate him and his lame smiles after he makes dumb mistakes. Maybe he's spending too much time with Devean George.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here. It was a rough loss and I was cursing at Odom and Kwame for their mistakes. However, something to consider is this, AT LEAST, Lamar Odom is finally stepping up and pulling the trigger down the stretch. Earlier in the year he was passing up these looks and not putting pressure on the defense. Odom needs to remain aggressive and not hang his head in this loss. The bigger mistake was Kwame Brown not closing out on Brad Miller. You have to realize what your opponents are capable of doing on offense, and Miller can hit from 3point range. Lazy effort by Kwame allowed the Kings to tie the game and gain the momentum. I think PJax needs to take some blame for this loss as well. He sat Kobe far too, long in the second quarter and the Laker bench surrendered the lead (once again.) Kobe Bryant had 21 points in the 1st quarter and was just demoralizing the Kings defense. He got both Garcia and Martin in foul trouble and the Lakers had a comfortable 4 point lead heading into the 2nd quarter with all the momentum. The Lakers are now 0-8 when Odom takes 15 or more shots.

If he misses it the critics will argue he should have given the ball to Kobe. If he hits it Odom gets praised. I wasn't fine with Odom not using up as much of the 30 secs of playing time when they lead by 5 points. That was a huge mistake of Odom's part that probably cost them the game even before Kwame's defensive blunders.

I'm not sure if he was just confident about making the shot before and lost sight of the situation. At least he wasn't smiling about it like he normally does after mistakes. I just don't want this mistake to stop the progress Odom is slowly making on offense. He's a lot more aggressive down the stretch and the Lakers will benefit from it in the long run.
Lamar's post game comments ... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lamar Odom “There was thirty-three seconds left and we had the ball. I’ll take the blame for that one. We should have run the clock down a little bit more but I had just hit that shot and I was thinking get to the basket. I just wished I put my team in a better position. The flop call kind of gave them new life. I thought it was Kenny and I at the basket, but I guess he drew the charge. I guess it was the right call.”</div> Source
