Hahaha! Yeah, that face to face shit pulled by Ariza started our huge 16-0 run. Now that 8M is Hedo's asking price, we got Ariza in the bag!
That is what he wants. The only team that can give that to him is Detroit. Right now, Portland is the front runner to get him for about $8 a year.
Yeah, that's what I've read too. And since Hedo at his age will probably not sign for a rebuilding team like Detroit, will probably go to Portland for about 8M, probably increasing per year.
He'll have his ass handed to him 4 times a year. I hope them signing Hedo breaks our curse in the Rose Garden. lol
Looks like Charlie V is moving towards the money. Charlie V and Ben Gordon are on their way to Detroit right now for meetings.
Free Agent Focus: The Lakers certainly want to bring back Trevor Ariza, who will be 24 next season, given his huge jump this season and ongoing room for growth as the starting small forward. Lamar Odom is also a high priority, and his market value will dictate the Lakers’ ability to bring 13 holdover players back. Shannon Brown seems likely to return and compete with Derek Fisher(notes) and Jordan Farmar(notes) for playing time. Player News: • G Kobe Bryant told The Orange County Register that “it’s not my responsibility” to opt out of his contract and accept less money to make it more comfortable for Lakers owner Jerry Buss to offer more money to re-sign Trevor Ariza and Lamar odom. • C Andrew Bynum(notes) passed up his chance to participate in the USA Basketball mini-camp in Las Vegas to rest his legs, although Lakers teammate Ariza is taking part. • F Adam Morrison(notes) said he intends to play for the Lakers’ summer-league team in Las Vegas as a means to get himself more experience in the triangle offense and also strengthen his knee since his 2007 torn ACL. Medical Watch: • G Kobe Bryant (right pinky finger) reiterated that he will not undergo surgery this summer because he has grown accustomed to the looseness in his damaged shooting hand.
I still don't think he's even that good, but whatever. Marbury: "That system can't win championships. You can't win championships if you don't talk about defense. In Boston, the coaches even play defense." ROFL
I think you're underrating Charlie V. With LeBron and Shaq in Cleveland drawing attention, he could have really flourished there. He's a damn good offensive player. I would welcome him to the Lakers any day.
Rudy Fernandez may want out. Wants more minutes and is upset about Hedo apparently. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4300407
I think it's probably overexaggerated by "the source" of this article. The Blazers have been very dilligent about bringing in guys with the "team first" mentality.
Hey if he wants 30 MPG he needs to play hard and earn those minutes. It's amazing how these athletes feel entitled to 'x' amount of PT. Go out and earn it.
He had that rookie record for 3 pointers, I'm sure he thinks he's well on his way to being a solid starter for someone.
He got off to a great start and then hit a wall. He came back late season though. I know this because I had him on my fantasy basketball team.
