Rumors are that Lamar's agent is exploring around for a sign and trade deal. (read this on Yahoo, the FA Winners and Losers article, Lamar is a loser)

Too bad there's NOBODY out there willing to give him a 10 million/year deal. Don't know why he just cannot accept that fact. I'm warming up to a sign and trade as well, as long as we get a decent PF in return, and somebody who can upgrade the point.

Already mentioned a potential deal with Miami, but I don't see that happening, because as huevon mentioned, they already have Beasley.

The next logical target could be the Bobcats, because Larry Brown loves Lamar. But I'm not really interested in any potential offers. I like Felton though, but that would still give us a void at PF, and salaries don't match.

Chicago could be another option. I would love to deal Lamar for Kirk and Tyrus/Joakim, but that's probably pipe.

With Portland throwing big bucks at Milsap, and never really showing much interest in Lamar to begin with, I don't know why Lamar just doesn't accept the fact that he's not getting 10 million. Not from us, not from anywhere else.

At the end of the day, he's stuck with us, unless he wants to screw himself over. The contenders, CLE/BOS/ORL/SAS all used up their MLE. So unless he wants to be dumb and play for a crappy team for MLE money just to spite us, give up a chance to defend his ring, and a chance to play with his childhood buddy, he has no options.

Just hope he doesn't come into the season lazy and lacking focus like he did last year. It wasn't until he finally got over the fact that he is still a vital player on this team, coming off the bench, that his play improved. If you guys remember, he was seriously scrub status the first month or so of the season.

Still don't see what's wrong with 3/24 that we're rumored to offer. Not like he can get more anyways. One option for him is to just sign a 1 yr deal with us, but then next offseason he'll be back in the same position, just another year older, because nobody will give him the money he wants.

Good luck trying to find a S&T. It isn't going to happen.

    Accept it Lamar.

I can't believe he's actually looking to get traded though, I thought he was just stalling as much as possible until we made some salary dump or gave in a little.

This is such a perfect situation for him, and I thought he already learned from Trevor's case. He even has one of his best friends playing for us next year in Ron. I'm honestly a little upset to hear this, the dude needs to chill out and just take our deal.

At the same time I wonder if asking for a sign and trade is also just part of his bluff. Meh whatever, this is just stupid.

I dunno how accurate the report was, just a small blurb on Yahoo Sports.

He only wants to get traded so he can get 10 million, but again, which team will offer him that? If the recent reports are correct, he should be back soon, so who knows. The most he can get in the open market now is 5-6 million. Apparently we're offering him "north of 8 million." If he doesn't take that deal, then I really don't know what to say. We just out bidded ourselves for another free agent, although this time around, I guess it was justified. LO better stop this BS and just take the deal already.

If we're gonna sign and trade Lamar, with Cuban apparently interested, Jason Terry would definitely work for me.

Salaries would probably match as well.

    C: Bynum
    PF: Gasol
    SF: Artest
    SG: Kobe
    PG: Terry

Seriously, how are you gonna stop that? I still remember all those times Terry lit us up. I would love him on this team. He is Derek Fisher X 100.

We need another PF though. I like JP, but his play down the stretch of the season left a sour taste in my mouth. Dunno what happened but dude was a beast early on. If we could get a Joe Smith that would be awesome.

I would prefer Terry off the bench. He proved last year he was fine with that role, too.

    Yeah that wouldn't be bad.

Ben Wallace just got released too. Wonder if he would accept a paycut and play for us, to win a ring?

Oh wait I forgot. He hates Ron.

Stupid Ron always starting shit with people. smh

so realgm says that the mavs may use the money they were going to use on gortat, to sign odom. can someone tell me how much that was? im sure lakers would match it though, so it really doesnt matter. i presume odom is just being odom and is sleeping in all day and out all night or gambling or whatever, and he just has been lazy and unnattentive in these offseason discussions. i dont really want to beleive all the "information" thats coming out from sportswriters and journalists at the moment, they are looking desperate to get a story. maybe odom is being a tightass and really only wants something in the range of 10 mil, but like you all said, nobody is offering that kind of money.

if all of a sudden a team offered odom that amount that he wants, would you want buss to match it or find someone younger/cheaper.

That would be MLE. Which is pretty much half of what we're offering. Only way they get him is via sign and trade.

Would the Mavs really give us Terry? Do they want to ensure our dynasty or something? :O

So they'll go, Kidd/Howard/Marion/Dirk/LO, something like that?

    Barea/whatever off the bench?

Maybe we might be able to sell them on that. They definitely do need another Big.

The 9 million deal is gone, maybe they offer him 8 million with more years?

Maybe, but either way I have a feeling LO's gonna come out bitching and playing like shit again. Sign and trade, please Mitch.

Agreed, I think the playing time might be getting to him.

I heard we might have worked out Sean May... I don't want to risk it with him though but he's always a Plan Z I guess. :O

    Get something done Mitch.
