I didn't know we were trying to re-sign Vince Carter, wtf man? :[ Ridiculous deals, what a sweet deal LO turned down.
Yeah we need to stand firm at 4/36. Let LO realize that is the best he has while we try to work out a trade stealth style. :O
I'm surprised by some of the stuff I read elsewhere. People are now worried about Gasol's extension? I think Management has already prepared to give him a max-like deal.
That's bullshit. Gasol's deal runs on for two more years. By then, Fish, AMMO, Farmar, Sasha will be off the books. No worries at all.
People will be worried about Drew's extension at the end of this year. LG'ers like to worry about contracts far before they need to.
Sheed, House, Davis (might be back since nobody is offering him anything), Daniels Bass, Gortat, Barnes (rumored to sign), Pietrus, Watson (close to signing) vs Mbenga, Powell, Walton, Vujacic, Brown That's our depth right now. Absolutely putrid. Boston and Orlando have great starting lineups as well, plus depth. We seriously have to get this LO thing resolved. Is he coming back or not? If not, Mitch better be on the phones 24/7 to improve our bench. Funny how when it's all said and done, Cleveland is still probably the weakest out of the Big 3.
Gortat is good. Played terrific filling in for Dwight when he was suspended. There's a reason why the Magic don't really fall off when Dwight's on the bench. Anyways, depth is overrated IMO. It's good to have, but in the playoffs, it's basically the top 8 who get the majority of the minutes anyways. Just breaking it down... Boston - Perkins, KG, Pierce, Ray Ray, Rondo, Sheed, House, Daniels Cleveland - Shaq, AV, Lebrick, West, Mo, Big Z, Parker, Gibson (?) Orlando - Dwight, Lewis, VC, Nelson, Pietrus, Gortat, Bass, Barnes vs LA - Drew, Pau, Ron, Kobe, Fish, LO (if we resign him), Brown, Walton or LA - Drew, Pau, Ron, Kobe, Fish, Brown, Walton, ??? (Vujacic? Morrison? JP? trade?) As you can see, it is pretty important that we retain LO. It takes us from being another contender, to favorites in my eyes. If we lose LO, Boston is probably the favorite to win next year, all bias aside. Obviously Mitch can still work the phones and come up with another steal, but that'll be what we're gonna be hoping for all summer then, I guess. Cleveland is still the weakest, IMO. Wouldn't be surprised to see them overrated again next year though.
Holy fuck, Carl Crawford is so fucking fast. He just hit an inside the park home run. Wow that fucker can run.
You forgot Redick and Ryan Andersen for the Magic. Both have the ability to produce in that system because of how well they can shoot the ball. And also, I'm pretty sure you'll see Sheed starting over Perkins next season. They have instant firepower off the bench with Eddie House and will have another really good bench scorer in Daniels, so they're not going to need him to score. He's a far better player than Perkins, even at his age. If he doesn't start, then Doc is an assclown (at least in my book...I personally think he's an overrated coach anyways).
