They have people out there for specific purposes such as rebounding, shooting, setting picks, just like the Bulls had earlier.
Re: Lakers record is fraud!!!!!!! I wouldn't say it's totally a phony. They did prove a lot playing like they did without Kobe and you can see that Kobe has matured and is more of a team player. I do not think they will stay at this pace but they'll be better than I expected. I think they'll win 50-52 games and get a 5th or 6th seed. I don't think they are as good as their record shows right now, and home games do make a difference, but they are a better team this year. And if that theory on Phil Jackson's coaching decisions is true then they will be even tougher during the playoffs.

I dont know what their record on the road is, but most teams in the NBA play better at home, and they are getting an advantage right now playing at home. That is a very good reason as to why their record is so good right now. I think that they are a good team anyways, but it is going to be interesting to see how they do when they go on a 5 game road streak. I hope that they can keep it up.

The same kobe who put up 81points last year the same kobe who dropped 30 in the third against the jazz and got 52 total. Thier role players are doing a good job and kobe is letting them take a more active role on offense - when they have a bad night, he will explode and carry them. The Lakers are here to stay! The Lakers play San Antonio on the 10th, Houston on the 12th, Dallas on the 13 and Houston again on the 15th If the lakers can get atleast 2, 3 or even all 4 wins out of that 4 game Texas Road Trip the lakers would prove you all wrong. Portland beat Detroit this season, and beat New Jersey twice, who even though they are having a bad season thus far is still a pretty good team. Both the Pistons and Spurs lost to the Bobcats. The Cavaliers lost to the Knicks and to the Bobcats. The Mavericks lost to Washington who is not a good team right now. So any good team can loose to a bad team.

I havent had time to read these other post but I agree withthe title of this topic. the Lakers have a great record but have had most of their games at home and against some very weak teams. Its not like they're playing the toughest teams on the west, their shcedule has been very very leniant.however, I did no expect them to win most of these games anyway with the talent they have on that roster, truth be told they are all playing some good basketball but sooner or later the talent will catch upto them and ultimatly have to rely on Kobe and Lamar and we all know Lamar is themost inconsistent playeri n the NBA,
