Odom with a near triple double. Yet again Kobe doesn't have to shoot well to get the victory. I smell the playoffs! Were starting to gel as a team at the perfect time, playoff time!
man, I was at a Bully BBQ for my pits today and totally missed this game. Just found out the news! WHOO HOOO!!!!!!
I only saw the highlights but Kobe looked out-of-his-mind good creating impossible shots out of nothing. he obviously was driven hard to get this win.
Hells ya what a win, man that lose against san antonio was a fluke. We are really gelling like a team. Walton with a big double double. Lamar with near Triple double. Kwame with 10 rebounds and good activity on the boards on the offensive end. Smush with a hella of a game. The stats are when Smush scores 16+ the Lakers are 14-5. And Kobe what a shot behind the glass.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting illmatic:</div><div class="quote_post">Shape, we did it! (by we I mean Lakers)! Picked up 2 grand, cashed that bad boy out, and making sure I don't make any bets for a while. Did you end up betting? I hope so, I'm glad I didn't take them +8, I just had a gut feeling we were gonna take this one, just like when we won at home against Miami, picked up 1200 that night too =) Great game Lakers!!!</div> Cha Ching! This was a great victory by the Lakers, and huge for the confidence of this young team. The win puts the Lakers one step closer to the 6th seed and 3 games above the .500 mark. Kwame Brown kept the Laker tradition alive by having a solid game on his birthday. Not whine about calls, but is it me or does Bruce Bowen get away with A LOT of handchecking? I was really worried about this 4 game stretch. I thought the Lakers would go 2-2 at best, but going 3-1 was damn impressive. The Lakers became one of five or six teams to beat both the Pistons and Spurs this season. They also beat the Spurs for the first time in the last 7 meetings since the post Shaq era. This was the first time Lamar Odom has ever beaten the Spurs in his entire career. Finally congrats to Ace on making it to UCLA.
yeah, what an impressive win by the lakers. they played hard and with heart the whole game through. i think everyone on the team had their best game of the season, not counting kobe of course. odom had a near triple double, and was making his layups, luke walton, well what can i say, he did something last night and actually made a lot of shots! kwame was terrific on his b-day and played great D on duncan. all in all, im happy, and i hope their confidence helps them in their next game. PS: congrats ace for making ucla!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The flagrant foul referee Jimmy Clark called on Kobe Bryant in the third quarter of the Lakers' 100-92 victory over the Spurs at AT&T Center was no indication that Bryant and the Lakers were trying to send some sort of signal to the Spurs should the teams be matched in a playoff series. In fact, even Barry thought Clark over-reacted in calling Bryant's forearm to his chest anything other than a routine, hard foul. Spurs' fans expressed vocal outrage at the call, but Barry, who scored a season-high 16 points, two coming on the free throws he was awarded after Bryant's foul, shrugged it off. "It was just normal contact," Barry said. "I don't think it deserved to be a flagrant." Asked if he was surprised when Clark said the foul had been flagrant, Bryant said, "Yeah, and Brent was, too. It wasn't a flagrant foul. It was crazy." </div> Source I hope this technical gets reversed. Kobe is one T away from being suspended for a game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting phiLA:</div><div class="quote_post">what? you get suspended by getting technicals?? when did this rule get made?</div> If you get over 16 technicals in a season, you get suspended for one game after every other offense. Tech #17 - 1 game suspension Tech #18 - nothing Tech #19 - 1 game suspension
Phil Jackson has pushed the panic button, playoffs are near and this is the best they Lakers have played all year. They have defeated almost all of the top winning teams of the NBA. Dallas twice, Detroit, Miami, and SAS, all is left is Pheonix. Oh, I love how Espn is making excuses for SAS loss last night.
"You think they're tough shots," Bowen said, "but he takes them so much, they're part of his repertoire." "A lot of guys didn't play a lot of minutes last night, so just give L.A. credit," Bowen said. "They kicked our tails." Bowen's post game comments on Kobe Bryant & the Lakers.
Kobe makes the hardest shots look easy. He's so talented. I liked the way he played defense that game. Everyone seemed like they wanted to win the game and thats what exactly happened.
I totally forgot about this game. Not having cable sucks. Anyways I was pretty happy just to find this out about 5 minutes. YAY!
